I keep hearing people are having trouble finding ways to throw the ball to the TE. Is this true? Anyone else expeirencing this? If not, any good ideas on how to get the TE some more looks?

If your teams receivers are just good and always open the GM needs to set the AI for more TE primary plays and have those plays in the playbook. If the TE just isn't getting open on the routes, build him more like a receiver.

My TE is as much as a reciever as He can get without being useless as a blocker (which he still does well). He had back to back 1,000 yard receiving years but then he had a down year and people were saying it is hard to get TE's the ball now. Just wondering if this was true.
Here are his attributes. He has done well, but maybe he needs some more work at level 40?
Strength: 53.98
Blocking: 35.16
Speed: 81.29
Tackling: 15.34
Agility: 51.8
Throwing: 7
Jumping: 27.12
Catching: 52.19
Stamina: 41.11
Carrying: 25.03
Vision: 47.89
Kicking: 7
Confidence: 31.08
Punting: 8
run block:3 0000
Run Route:7 sticky hands:7 quick cut:6 cover up:3 lower shoulder:5

Not really, I saw 3 games where he had pretty good games that weren't blowouts. You can't judge a TE like you can a HB. On any given play there are up to 5 other targets that can get the ball. When you are a HB either you rush and do well or you don't. Nobody else usually runs the ball. (except QB's in some cases)

Sadly i agree here...blowout wins often go to the HB or Wrs..not the TE. Usually if a TE has a good game its vs a good team. Unless its a blowout thats totally set to pass to the TE. (which of course is possible.)

Not gonna argue that we played really only 6 tough teams.
But the point is if you have a good TE, which Deck is, and you use the AI right the TE will get the ball.
That Being said, we have 4 Good WRs, and that probably draws attention away from the TE.
JRyan - With those stats Very Rarely throw short to him, Throw Med and Long, it will open up your passing game greatly!!!! Especially if you have a Catching HB or FB

People try to build speed TEs, but LB speed increases faster than TE speed does. Plus the TE is double-covered more often than any other receiver in most defenses.

Definetly see a lot of double coverage. Not trying to be faster than all of the safties, and LBers, just trying to be fast enough to get open.

That's the issue with TE's in this game, they're all being built as fast as WR's.... when that happens, the CB's are going to shut them down all day long. My TE is built primarily as a blocker, and has 38 speed and 51 catching... he gets open ALL day, and doesn't drop passes. Reason being, all those fast WR's and CB's are just dropping straight back 15 yards, and the middle of the field is WIDE open. Sure, He only gets 4-7 yards per catch... but, HELLO, 4-7 is better than 0 is it not? Which is the TE's job, not going 50 yards down the field and trying to beat a CB. You don't need "speed" to get open, guys, you need vision and agility.

CB's don't cover TE's. LB's do.
