Since my guy is now out of the playoffs I wanted to start thinking about boosting next season. I also wanted to get some advice from you guys to see where I should go with the build.

Strength: 84.89 (+15)
Blocking: 83.89 (+15)
Speed: 47.34
Tackling: 26.09
Agility: 56.12
Throwing: 9
Jumping: 8
Catching: 9
Stamina: 52.3
Carrying: 7
Vision: 45.91
Kicking: 7
Confidence: 24.89
Punting: 8

43334
22222

I am thinking of going 2 points into speed, 3 into confidence, and 10 into agility at this point. I am open to moving equipment and other ideas as well though.

I would just train confidence, personally. Eventually, you're going to run out of stuff that you can positively train so, in my opinion, you're better served 1st capping speed and then just pumping everything else into Agility. Also, I'm sure it's a bit late, but I don't really see the use in splitting your equipment between Strength and Blocking as an OT. I guess it's ridiculously expensive, but I might recommend mixing Blocking and Agility.

more points agility and speed. that's about it till you cap both at 60.

I would put all points into agility. Tackle has no need for 60 speed imo.

More agility and confidence. If you play LOT put some points into Protect.

And train confidence up to at least 30 to take advantage of the gains.

If you wait to see the need for 60 speed you'll be playing catchup like the guys that waited to get 50 speed or waited to get 60 agility.

I'd rather have 68/50 than 60/60, personally. At least as what to do this next season..

What I'm going to do is probably train speed + agility after getting them to 49/60, and maybe whoard SP for the season.

^ not a bad idea, honestly.

I agree on 68/50, but I guess I'm working now toward 68/60 gotta stay one step ahead of those DE's!

I disagree. The speed gains will level off tremendously at some point. Level 40+ leveling bonuses are not particularly impressive either, +.21 for DE which is nice compared to other positions, but not going to put them up over 100 either.

The issue is...what will happen when you go up against a LDE with 80 spd/80 agi DE when he gets an 11-12 in Tunnel Vision? toss in 7 in Change Direction and a healthy First Step. They are coming next season!

I honestly have no idea what will be needed to stop those guys...but I'm figuring more than 50 speed and 60 agility is needed, especially for ROTs!

It's not about the level bonus anymore, it's about cost/value. 2:1 to raise speed is what I'm willing to pay, not 3:1.

I think his point is that DEs aren't going to get much faster. I've been talking about this privately with some friends but not much in these forums yet... DEs had the upper hand b/c of crazy good gains in speed/agi and the ability to pump those SAs up.

Any good DE already has 68/68 with 5-7 in all of those good SAs. How can they get better? +4 with equip at level40 or 48? A few more SAs? Good for them. OTs on the other hand were all at 30/48 spd/agi. We've got seasons left to pump up and match them. By the time we catch up, I just don't see much (outside of sim changes) that DEs will really be able to do differently.

That is my thought, atleast. Within 2 seasons, we wont be seeing these crazy sack numbers against good teams. PackMan, your team Cary was able to shut down both of our DEs in the playoffs, first time in 2 seasons really. And trust me, their builds are *good* you didn't even need to guess that I'm sure. Your team has good OTs, and will improve much faster than our DEs will be able to now as well.

Anyway, 60 speed is a funny number. I can justify spending 2:1 in speed. I can't justify 3:1. I don't know if I'd want to go ALL THE WAY to 60 either. I think the current approach for OTs should be to train speed from 49 to 53-54, and if you need to in the future use two levels to get it to 60..

^ ya, that's most likely what I'll do. Take them up a step at a time and see how they go and just save my boosts if it gets to point where I need to take drastic action.

I imagine I'll stop at 55/68 or somewhere around there...but I can guarantee you, I'll boost to 60 in a heartbeat if I think it will help the team. I'm not married to 60 as a number, just to getting the job done!

Although, I'd prefer someone else try it first so I can evaluate it's effectiveness. Of course, don't ignore the fact I'm quickly running out of places to spend SPs before I have to start putting them into the dreaded SA or start spending at +4!!

True, I've already killed the SAs. The only one I'd consider is taking get low up to 6 if I found equip for it, which I can't find yet...

Do you think capping sta/vis/conf is a total waste?
