where is the MLB going?
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=282637&pbp_id=11803945
Play is 3-2-6, cover 0, man, short, run, center shift, blitzes : 3 : SS, ROLB, CB3

I would assume he covers the HB since the TE is blocking and the ROLB and SS are blitzing.

Since apparently the defense "knows" if a player is blocking or not before the snap, the FS goes to cover WR2 since the TE is blocking, leaving the MLB to cover the HB.

SO, why does the MLB go into the flat?

Oh joy.

I sure do love not being able to control anything.

The Hb has such good juke, all he had to do was think about it, and the MLB took off.

This is simple.

You blitzed the CB, the MLBs job was to Double Cover the WR on the Blitzing Side. But his VIS and AGI were high enough that he Recognized the play and ABANDONED his job to make the play.

Had you played a Zone for the LBs he would have stayed where he started, but becasue it was man he went to Double Cover the WR.

PS, you also Blitzed the ROLB, had you not done that the ROLB would have Double Covered the WR and your MLB (in MAN D) would have covered the HB, I think, almost positive maybe the TE.

The AI does strange things when you blitz a CB assigned to a WR.

I *really* want the ability to designate LB assignments by play and position. I'd love the flexibility to drop my OLBs to play zone in the flats while having my MLB play man on the TE or HB, for example.

This would be a very nice addition as well as assigning DE's or DT's to zones while blitzing LB'ers or the secondary.

The MLB read that the TE was not going out on a pattern, and neither was the HB. Now, you say to yourself, if I'm the MLB and read the TE throwing a run block, the other team is probably running the ball, right? But in this situation in GLB, the LBs will generally default to moving to double a WR running a pattern. Whenever they realize it's a run, they turn around and go looking for the HB.

I watched this again and looked at some of our games. When the ROLB goes on his Blitz, I am sure the Code for the MLB is to take the ROLB (or LOLB in a 2 LB formation)responsibility (This is just My Best Guess).

Now it looks like you blitzed your SS also, your SS (IMO) was supposed to guard the TE.

To me the MLB read the TE was not going out and didnt not cover him for the SS, but the WR that the CB and ROLB were supposed to Double Cover Blitzed and the MLBs first Responibility is to do his assignment (what the code says) and he did that.
