this play is hard to defend, any suggestions?

Maybe play zone out of those formations rather than man to man. I'm not sure though but I think I know the play you are talking about.

have players on defense with high vision that can see the screen coming

It seems like stoppng it is all about personnel. My team played a team I GM fo in a scrimmage and we both play man and the team with better build stopped it. Super vision helps a lot as they see the play happening a lot faster

43 DE Contain
43 Man Flats
326 Cover 0 - not so sure about this one, but i think it could work

Do not do that unless you know undoubtedly that they are going to screen from that formation only.

Yeah, the run up the middle will kill you.

The DE contain is set-up for 2 WR. Will a 3rd CB get on the field and into coverage for the Single Back set? There's no reason for the ROLB to take the FB in "man."

If there's not 3 CB's, there's a chance for a wide open WR.

LB'er will cover the 3rd WR.

In the 43, it would likely be the RLB on the 3rd receiver, who is more likely to shed the block than a corner. not sure about the cover shell, but in a cover 0 i think the FS may be closer to the play. would zone be more effective than man? that may allow the lbs to better defend the run.

Unfortunately, for some reason in the 4-3 the MLB picks up the 3rd WR. This makes no sense to me but that's what I've seen happen.

cover 0 weakshift will force the FS to add numbers on the WR screen (from singleback). weakshift without the ROLB (from 3-3) or MLB (from 4-2) blitzing will give the LB a good angle to make the play on the WR. problem with this is the outside run to the right as there are fewer men here or the lethal HB slam as the FS isn't there as a backup to the LB not stoppoing the HB

alternatives:
cover 1 3-2 dime. adds another CB on the weakside whilst having the FS back
3-4 weak. balanced. just make sure you have coverage LBs in your roster

DE contain is rubbish against versatile OCs but very good against 1 trick ponies.

you can have all the schemes in the world but solid builds are key. CB3, ROLB and FS must have very high vision (soft capped to 48 at the very minimum). RDE should have jump in the mid 20s as they too can cut the pass

3-4 will stop the play every time if you have a really fast LOLB.

You can also run a cover 0 in a nickel. Chances are 1 wr won't block all 3 of those guys over there.
