How did Canton get 9th place? There is some kind of mistake. I sent the attached complaint. (Guys - No offense meant to Cali or Louisiana here but facts is facts.)

Please see our league, there is a mistake:

Our record (Canton) is equal to California and Louisiana and We BEAT them both head to head in the regular season. We should be in the playoffs before them yet they are ranked ahead of us and we're out in 9th place???? Please correct and advise asap. Thanks!

Head to head only breaks a 2 team tie

If there are more than 2 teams tied (same record), then it's based upon these factor in this order:

1. Number of head-to-head wins against the other tied teams with the same record.
2. Number of total points scored.
3. Number of total points allowed.

I don't want to be an ass but we worked our asses off to get here. We choked tonight in a game we should have won (F-in turnovers damnit!) but still we earned a spot by beating the others head to head. I'll keep y'all posted. We won't go anywhere anyway in the playoffs this season but there is a little needed cash and mostly the moral victory for my players. That's the main thing here.

Well, your not the only one who worked your Asses off.. So lets go into depth on your Complaint filed shall we so I can attempt to show you..if I am correct that is. How it holds no merit:

Wins against other teams with same record:
Currently of the 4 teams besides yours with a 10-6 record you beat 2 of them.
Myself and the Kings have beat 2 teams
The blackbears have beat 2 teams
San Diego has beaten 2 teams
And Northwood has beaten 2 teams

So as it stands right now the 5 teams with a record of 10-6 have all won 2 games against the other teams with a 10-6 record..Based on that it still isnt clear which teams will be put into the playoffs..So we now move on to the next bit of criteria.

Number of total points score:
Kings-1,038
San Diego-993
Northwood-1,087
Louisiana-1,163
Canton-964

Now based on total number of points scored. You can see why Canton was then left out of the playoffs because with only 4 spots left..in that bit of criteria they came in 5th. You can say I dont know what I am talking about. But the fact that I do is clearly evident because of the way they seeded the teams. Louisiana has scored the most out of the 10-6 teams and got the 5th seed, Northwood has the next most and got the 6th seed, then the Kings with the 7th and lasty San Diego who got the 8th seed.

Sadly..that is the end of it and us 4 were put into the playoffs. Which sucks in a way for Canton because If number of points allowed had been #2 on the criteria list..You would have been in and San Diego would have been the odd team out.

But I guess this is the way the cookie crumbles..You played a great season and have nothing to look bad upon.. Good luck next year!!

I looked it up too and I'm afraid you're probably correct using the points thing. What a BS tie breaker but it is what it is. (Why not make it points against each other rather than total season points? I guess I'll play my starters hard all game even against the crappy teams next season, this makes no sense in that regard. Oh well.)

Good luck to you too in the playoffs, I can't bear to watch though.
BIG disappointment here.

We'll be back next season, until then best wishes to all in the Great USA BBB #10!
I'm out.

You know..What you did by not playing your starters hard might have been a good strat a few seasons ago...Because as we all know those type of games against the bad teams can really drain your Stamina and some couldnt get it back up by the next game.. But with the return of your stamina before the next game automatically there isnt any reason they should be set to hard now... its just a lesson learned that all learn sooner or later..Sucks it had to come down to that for you guys.. But all that would have been sand in the wind had you fellas just pulled it out against Northwood.

That's a bummer bro... If you beat both those teams... you should be in.... end of discussion.

But the thing is it's more than just a three way tie.
If it were those three teams (Canton, California, and Louisiana), then Canton would have gotten in.

But it is a 5 way tie, and you can't just take it like that to get into the playoffs, without including the other two teams.

Crunk explained it perfectly.

And it's how the NFL works it as well, so there isn't really much complaint that can go on... Even though I feel that Canton does deserve to be in, just as everyone who was 10-6 did. If you go 10-6, you should be in the playoffs, period.

Unfortunately it didn't work out that way, and California has it's first playoff birth ever.

Good luck to Canton next season, and I hope you guys make it (And go 15-1) next year.

I appreciate the kind words fellas - I really do.

Missing the dance really sucks, and hurts, especially when we played so well overall.
I got this gutted and flat broke mess of a team 2 seasons ago in mid season and some of the guys stayed on with me through all the crap (and a 1 win season!) and I really feel the worst for them. I wish we had a pro bowl or something where they could get some recognition.

Crunk's right - if we had just done what we should have, kept the ball off the carpet and beat Northwood......

Oh well, there's always next season (I hate that line)!

Well with only two seasons, what you have done is quite an accomplishment (It's taken the Kings moreso than that, if it paints a picture).
Congrats to you for that man, and I know it sucks and hurts... But look at how far you've come, and where your team has to go.

You guys are going to make the playoffs next year, and you should be proud of your team for making such big strides this season, playoffs or not.

I know what it feels like to be one game out, or tied for the spot and be left out... Overall man, just keep optimistic... And look at how far that's gotten you.

Congrats to one of the better owners in GLB.

We have our own big 12 MESS! hhaha

It reeks of the big 12 Title game drama

Here we use points scored, they used BCS standings.

Kenny and all the other GM's have worked our Ass off to get the team out of the basement. Pretty much everyone on GLB does the same. It's good to see us in the running for the playoffs. It sucks to not make it, but we will be back. We can only go up from here.
