Our team is having problems throwing the deep ball. The OC has tried adjusting the playbook to heavily favor deep patterns, our QB's have set "long pass" tactics, but we still end up with like 11 short passes, 5 medium and 4 long every game. Is this because of our QB's build? Are defenses just taking away long routes? Are our QB's too quick to check down for some reason? Does a lack of speed at WR have something to do with it, perhaps?

Teams we play against have no problem completing long passes against us, but we just can't seem to reciprocate. Any ideas regarding how we can throw the deep ball more effectively would be greatly appreciated.

Probably a nice blend of all of the above.

Could be an offensive ai issue?

That's all you can do really, unless your plays are being overwritten by some short pass plays in the AI or something. If you call a long pass play and the long target isn't open, the QB won't force it to him often.

If you want to be sure of long passes you can always call the 5 WR streaks play all the time

Damn you Rosario.

Ok, it sounds like you are doing the right things.

1. Settings your passing percents to have a high amount of long passing in the basic AI or selecting a good amount of long passing in the advanced AI is the first step.

2. Make sure you have the long passes that you want to run in your playbook.

3. Have the QB favor long passes and either have medium or no check downs to backs.

4. Have receivers fast and agile enough to get down field.

5. Have enough blocking to prevent your QB from getting hurried. If he's hurried, he'll often throw early before the longer passes have time to develop.

Good luck against everyone but me!
