I saw a post in this forum recently where someone claimed that a G was pretty cookie cutter. I can't say that I disagreed with him, but it left me wondering: what builds out there are not cookie cutter but still succeed? I guess this has two parts,
1) what is the cookie cutter for each oline pos, and
2) what are the successful adjustments for each pos?

For a G, to get something a little different, take confidence to 48 a.s.a.p. before doing the 'cookie cutter' boosting of Str/Blk.

By lvl 30, with the level gains, conf would be 62 which is well ahead of all the cookie cutter G builds. Sure, Blk and Str would be 1-2 points behind but it is not a disaster.

I'm going to make a G like this at the end of the season.

60 speed at the RG position?

can also go non-cookie cutter by making your build based around some SAs, like a ROT who utilizes "get low" in a running offense will look *way* different than a LOT who is just there to boost "protect"

Avoiding the Cookie Cutter? All confidence and stamina. That way you never get tired of talking about yourself, while you warm the bench.

the question wasn't just to avoid the cookie cutter, but to do it in a way that could still succeed. I don't consider warming the bench to be very successful.

If you're a RG, go Speed/agility and less Blocking. At one point more blocking on a RG just becomes pointless.

The way I avoid the cookie cutter builds is to make the best cookie.

When you have a kick ass cookie, no one pays attention to the recipie/cutter you used to shape it

All of my OL are "cookie cutters", but the cookies I made are so nice and tasty that no one cares that they are built out of the same mold. Sure, the recipe is the same but my guys were baked with so much more attention and care that they turn out a superior tasting cookie that 99 out of 100 team owners drool over.

Naw, I have a plain white apron and a chef's hat that I usually wear.

One way to avoid being like everyone else is going the smart route and not putting a lot of bank on the Pancake SA. Or just avoiding it altogether.

Don't invest a lot in the SAs.

I'm building a agility LT to deal with all these speed/agility DEs.
