Hello,

I have a plan short-term, but where should I go over the next 2 or so seasons?

Speed 48.68 (62.68)
Agility 48.23 (49.23)
Vision 31.28

Strength 26.73 (28.73)
Tackling 30.28 (31.28)

Jumping 20.75
Catching 15.75

Stamina 26.28
Confidence 33.28

HH: 22221
PR: 22332 (Custom eq)

My plan is:

1. Ignore repositioning eq; no real damage done
2. Vision to 48
3. Intense train Jumping/Catching
4. Nothing more into SA's until mid 30s.

At that point, should I hard-cap speed? Soft-cap Tackling?

Does this sound like a good plan?

Thanks,
Chris

imo...no more SA, 2nd cap agility, move eq out of str/tck and train it....that's just how i'd do it.

Thanks Darren. I agree on the SA's, with the exception that some schools of thought hold that having 6+ in two or three key LB SA's really give you a great boost. But they really haven't made a case (though it's probably not possible to offer proof of those).

The source of my indecision is that I've see a lot of folks recently raising agility above speed, but I've seen no arguments actually making the point. I don't doubt your expertise, but I'd hate to change builds in mid-stream.

Rod makes a great case for speed/agility/vision at S/.75S=A/.75A, and if I'm not mistaken, he's actually beginning to favor vision over agility. Can you recommend some discussions of agility/speed that I can review?

Thanks,
Huffster

The agility > speed argument has a few reasons. First, if you're a blitzer, the agility will help you get past the linemen easier. Second, gets you to your top speed faster to help get to the point of attacker quicker (speed=faster for crossing the field, agility for getting down to the hole on your own side). Then there's not biting on fakes, increased tackling ability, and a few other things. Personally, I'm keeping agility's base higher than speed, but at the moment EQ is all speed.

Not a detailed post, but just some quick reasons.

All good points. I've seen the effects of agility<speed on replays: delays on cuts, delays on reacting to a receiver who's just caught the ball, etc. Fortunately, spd & agi are both around sc (with same spd focus on eq), so boosting base agi over speed is doable at this point. Thanks, all.

That does beg a couple of questions, though: 1. do equipment points really equal base points 1:1?

2. I see a long delay on passes to the HB in the flat--almost like he's in coverage and waiting until the HB commits to crossing the line. Here's an example:

http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=240237&pbp_id=8474511

Would you attribute all of that to lack of agility, or is there something in the software that would keep a lineback in coverage from closing on a HB until he commits to passing the line of scrimage? I know there's no HB pass in the playbook but that doesn't mean the defense isn't set up to deal with one. Ideas?

Even if you 2nd cap agility, your speed (with equipment) will be higher. The per level bonus to agility is greater than to speed, because agility is a major and speed is a minor. You can get agility up first, then work speed, and switch eq from speed to agility as it gets to 12+ higher than agility. Having 5-6 points in well chosen SAs is a good idea....but you want to prioritize your attributes, getting the key ones to the second cap first, before settling on SAs. One because it will make you better in the long run, two because you have a better chance of finding a team/role you want to stay in for mid to long term.
