I thought about this ages ago before the start of season 4, but with agility supposedly starting to affect acceleration my idea kinda got shutdown. Anyway, I've now decided to actually try it and build an HB who's basically all strength and speed. I want him to just be a straight line returner so I won't train or put any points in vision.

I'm going to 3rd cap(67.97) strength (which I'll do by level 11) then 3rd or possibly 4th cap speed and all his equipment will be in speed. I'll be training up agility, stamina, carrying and confidence. Once my strength and speed targets have been reached I'll be taking Lower the Shoulder to 10 and eventually also Power Through to 10.

So, think it could work?

I figure it would work but then again it also depends if he has enough speed to get away from the other weaker players. As long as they only have OL and CB's out there he will be a much stronger and bigger Devin Hester

Actually going to play my HB at KR for the cupcake game we have tomorrow. Been wanting to try it for a while. I think speedster WR's are still best though so they can get the most yards before there is anyone in position to make a tackle. Lots of first step/quick cut.

I agree. The more speed, the better. The point is to cover the most yardage before the defenders reach the KR. I've tried HB's in KR/PR positions and it seems like they always fumble a lot more than CB/WR's with less carrying...

I said in my post I'm going to get his base speed to at least 68 and possibly take it to the 4th cap(73.25) and all his equipment will be in speed.

It is a waste. If you check over my replays (scrims/friendlies) you'll see 2 or 3 kicks returned for tds. No broken tackles. Also, I got the ball less those games over the other 3 RBs on the team.

You're in USA AA, I'll be in a capped league against pretty weak players.

I bet it will work extremely well..especially the 1st 2 seasons. Eventually it comes down to blocking and getting the shot man blocked.

I've got that covered. I'm slow building 6 players to specifically only to play both sides of special teams, they'll be great blockers with good speed and agility so the returner won't out run the blocking.

His averages are actually a bit low. Decent for punt returning, but his kick returning averages are pathetic.

Im not talking about his KR yards... We took him off of KR... honestly i dont know why he was on there.
But he had more success than anyone has ever had on our team at PR.
