Do we have any interest in having all-star voting or MVP selections?

I know an entire All-star roster is a grueling task but we should try to do something where each team can cast a vote for categories like:

Offensive MVP
Defensive MVP
QB of the year
RB of the Year
WR ""
O-lineman ""
DB ""
LB ""
D-line ""
Return Guy ""

Let me know your thoughts on this, I will volunteer to collect and count votes if we want to do it privately via PM or we can just make threads for the categories and post in the thread, we should start voting before the playoffs, maybe even before the last game.

great idea. I will offer the same for the East.

Thanks!

Too bad Bort doesn't just take stat leaders, make East/West teams and do an All Pro game in the off season. Would be cool.

I think French Lick deserves the return guy award. Other than that, we're going 0fer.

I'm for it. Let's just not make this a lame one where we simply put the stats leaders at every spot. Look at how they did in big games and not just games where an OT got 75 pancakes against a slowbuild.

I agree completely, I think for the most part every team has 1 or two GMS\Owners who are fairly active in the forums. I watch our games with Greasemonkey all the way through, sometimes twice as I am sure you guys do also and see who is really making plays that may not even show up on the stats. When the threads are created we should lobby\campaign for players on our teams that we think should be considered. Give a short sales pitch, you know what I mean? for example:

Gunner James may have had 800 yards against A-town but in big games where he needed to step up he rushed for over 200 yards each time.

This makes it easier to recognize players, rather then having to dig through all their game logs to find out if they racked up all their stats against the blind and the deaf or when they were really tested.

We have several players on the Night Moves who are good enough to be MVP's. However, my team probably splits snaps and statistics more than any team in the league. We have a balanced offense and we don't have 1 guy on D getting 30 sacks. We have more like about 7 players who have 6 or 7 sacks.

We will have 2 1,000-2,000 yard rushers and 2 1,000+ yard receivers.

Also what do you think about entire o-lines instead of seperate. Its hard to judge a single person on the O-Line.

Honestly, I don't think any of us will have the time to accurately declare who is the best at every position on the field.

It may be best to simply have an offensive and defensive MVP, overall MVP, and a GM/owner/coach of the year award.

I think that would be more accurate and much easier to look for.

Ok, this would be my official proposal:

Each owner/gm who feels that they have someone on their team who is deserving of an offensive MVP, defensive MVP, and/or Coach of the Year award may nominate that player/coach. So each team that wants to can nominate 1 player from their team for each award.

Then someone (clutch 24 I'm guessing) will put together a list of the nominees and there will be one person from each team who will vote on each of the 4 awards (O MVP, D MVP, COY, and overall MVP).

How does that sound?

For example, at this point in the season, my nomination from my team (New World Night Moves) would be:

Offensive MVP: QB Ole Junior Favre: 125 QB rating, 68% completion %, 3,371 yards, 40 TD's, 6 INT's

Defensive MVP: SS Andy Dufresne: 93 tackles, 1 INT, 8 sacks, 2 FF, 2 defensive TD's

Coach of Year: none (I don't feel that I am deserving of the award and I have no GM's on my team)

I hear what you are saying but that is kind of the nature of the beast you know? If all players on your team are performing well then that is a product of the system more then an individual player. All of us top teams have balanced stat leaders, hell I am going to have 3 1,000 yard WR's this year and I am a run first team! However, in my opinion, Pig Piggerson is the most dominant WR in this conference with Josh Weaver behind him and The Weapon behind that. That is from watching him play against me, Pig caught almost every ball thrown at him, it was insane. Weaver is a TD machine and The Weapon can break a game open, home run hitter!
