I know it's the middle of the season, but can anyone give me some ideas of how to get my guy on a team? Or does anyone know of a team that needs a backup or potential starter? Level 13...my build is open.

You have any boosts left? If so, I'd say look around and see if any new level 13 cap teams are being made in the off season, and find yourself a soon-to-be owner and make a verbal commitment to him. Then boost when you're signed to the team to be level 16, and boost again at the start of the season to hit level 19. There should be a decent number of owners looking for a player with this capability and you should get a roster spot fairly easily.

If you want on a team now and you find out that there won't be any new teams next season, find yourself a 2 QB system and or pitch yourself to any teams that need a QB. Make sure to avoid situations were the QB is also the team owner or a coordinator. Get yourself some decent playing time in the #2 spot while looking for starting jobs elsewhere. Make sure your contracts are one season only while you're the back up, or that the owner is cool enough to release players in the off season if you find a starting job.

Make sure to not be a bitch about contracts, and try to humble about what happens. The more you complain about gameplans and team performance the more likely you are to be released which can be a kiss of death for QBs since everyone in their mother wants to make one.

And just for an example, here is my road of being a QB:
Made late Season 2, signed on a player team season 3 as a back up. That team's owner played his own QB 90% of the time despite promising a 2 QB system. Left for a real 2 QB system in Season 4, got probably about 40% of the playing time. Shopped myself around in the background and got a starting position, and I've been on that team ever since.

Excellent response. Thanks a lot. You're all right...for a Packer fan.

unless you boost and have CE, there is absolutely no point in building a QB. You won't find a team. There are about 50 booster and CEs without teams right now.

best way to find a team for a QB, buy a team.

But I do boost, and have CE. Hopefully that's enough. If there are this many skill players unable to get teams, they either need to stop letting people make players at certain positions or create more teams.

I recruit for about 6 different teams during the off season. On the rare chance I look for skilled positions (QB/HB) the first thing I look at if they meet the level I'm looking for is if they have blue on one of their SA trees. If they don't I go to the next one. Next I look at how many players they have. If they have 10+ players, then it's a serious owner and I'll send them a contract.

There is just way too many good quality choices at HB and QB to pick someone who isn't experienced or doesn't boost. Now if you rolled a CB, you would have 25 owners begging you to play.

Wow, those are lame criteria for recruiting players. LOL. If he owns multiple guys he must be more serious, eh? That's like saying the guy who eats chocolate all the time must be Willy Wonka's long lost brother. Owning multiple players doesn't mean that one knows how to build them well.

Thanks for the advice though guys. Looks like I just had to be patient. I had several offers recently and accepted one with a level 13 cap team that's just starting up. I should be able to get some good experience for my guy there.
