So I created a slow build DT and am currently training strength/tackling. Have been from the get go. My guy is level 9 and the plan is to train strength/tackling until I have enough SP to 4th cap strength in one shot, which will be doable when I used my boosts for this season. With mid 70s base strength getting 0.67/level until 22 and then 0.50 on subsequent level ups I figure to have my base strength increase to mid 80s by level 30.

I see a lot of strength-haters for DT builds but I have already committed to the ridiculous strength and will not abandon that plan. But as far as secondary attributes go, I'm CLUELESS. This is my first and only D-lineman and I want him to be special. With massive strength would he be more suited for DT or NT? Should I make him into a pass rusher or run stopper, or some combination of both?

Suppose your level 40 NT or DT had 117 strength. What would the rest of his build look like? What SAs best utilize high strength?

Make him into a NT/run stuffer.

After strength look for 70 agility.
train stamina, vision, and confidence to 30+
train speed, jumping to 20+

work from there.

But if you do, he would be good at either position. he would absorb blockers. and let the ends wreak havoc.

yes, high strength NT/DTs have struggled putting up numbers lately, but doesn't mean they suck. they certainly do suck up blockers and hence make everyone else better.

So would it be good to make a heavy investment in Break Thru eventually?
