I was thinking, maybe the key isn't loads of speed/agility/vision/tunnel vision or whatever else. If a CB gets beat multiple times per game, then their performance drops. The same can be said for a defensive end. If you're not beating the OT and the pass is completed, then shouldn't their morale should drop as well? Most games have roughly 45 average pass plays, so that's about 18 times that you are getting stopped with split plays and assuming you're getting some pressure.
I'm just saying, maybe confidence is the most overlooked attribute in this game.
