1. Florida 9-0. Florida crushed another opponent by getting all Rick James and bitch slapping Niagara. Does anybody even care anymore? You can bet your ass the teams that still have to play Florida care!
2. Rochester 9-0. Shut out a severely overmatched Orleans ballclub. The week 11 showdown with Florida is looking like not only the game of the week, but possibly the game of the year.
3. Yancy Street 8-1. The reapers continue to roll and now have won 8 in a row after a weke one loss by dismantling a talented Thundertown squad. Yancy travels to Scott Dubnoff Memorial Coliseum for a showdown with the Reno Knights, their first true test coming out of the east.
4. Reno 6-3. Reno beat up the JV squad in Hartford. Even Reno's cheerleaders made tackles against the patsy Hustlers. They have a huge game looming when the Reapers visit. Reno needs to step up and beat Yancy to prove it is is the same class as the other elite teams after losing to both Florida and Rochester.
5. Teikoku 6-3. The Alexanders have been rolling after reeling off 6 straight wins. They now face a team in Florida that has looked every bit unbeatable all season long. This is just the start of a tough stretch for Teikoku, as they host the Dragons and travel to Bronx in upcoming weeks.
6. Bronx 5-4. Bronx decisively beat the upstart Port Moody Pain in the game of the week. They have looked strong at times this season, and other than a late season matchup with Reno could run the table against the rest.
7. Port Moody 6-3. A loss to Bronx ends the Pain's 3 game winning streak. They are still poised to make the playoffs, but are going to have a rough time winning many games with Florida, Rochester and Reno still on the schedule. 10 wins is not out of the question for this team though.
8. Thundertown 6-3. They were thrashed by Yancy this week, but still look like they will be contending for a playoff spot. They will likely make it unless Victoria can make a late move. They have a big game this week when th 6-3 Port Moody Pain visit The Thunderdome. We'll see if Port Moody will leave the Thunderdome saying, "The Pain Rule Bartertown!"
Still fighting:
Victoria 4-5. Won an absolute must win game this week against the Grumpy Knights. Only a game out, they could make a move into the playoffs.
Atlanta 3-6. Effectively ended Orlando's season and saved their own chances last week. They've got an uphill battle, but have hope.
Down and out:
Orlando 2-7
Niagara 2-7
Emmaus 2-7
Grumpy Knights 1-8
Orleans 0-9
Hartford 0-9
None have a realistic shot. Not enough talent, no signs of being able to rapidly improve right now.
Game of the Week:
8-1 Yancy Street Grim Reapers at 6-3 Reno Knights
A clash of two of the absolute best teams in the east. Both have lost the only games they have played against upper tier competition, Reno's record reflects that they have played more of those game thus far. Both have steamrolled every mid tier team they have faced. The Reapers have momntum on their side after winning 8 straight.
Prediction: Reno's lack of depth at CB will hurt them against the talented Yancy wideouts. A close battle.
Yancy 38 Reno 34
