I've updated the rankings with stats from tonight's games. I also found another stat that I am able to use, so I added that into the equation and re-weighted all of my stats. There were some enormous blowouts today which contributed to some teams making big leaps. Keep in mind that this is still a basic ranking system and has only three games of data, so it has a little ways to go. Without further delay... Here they are!

Ok i have to know how Atlanta beat beat Portland that you had at 2nd and they moved down to 4th. We also beat Seattle and we went from 11th to 12th we should have gone up considerably right?

nvm, too much work and I'm too drunk, either way I believe from now on it should go by record and then stats. Say the 49ers had better stats than the pats last year, noone would put the pats below the niners, record first, then stats

Funny you say that without knowing what goes into the formula for making the rankings.

If you go first by record, all you're doing is creating the standings, and, well, that's really a complete waste of time because that's already on the league page.

That's because the rankings are not dependent only on what your team does. It's not like ESPN's rankings or NCAA Top 25, where there's an unwritten rule that you can't go down if you lose.

You beat Portland by 1 point in what was, by all accounts, a very close game. Now, let's take a look at those who leapfrogged you, which in this case is Seattle, who recorded a 24-0 shutout in their game.

Big changes, especially this early on, can be explained. It is usually a combination of what you did along with what teams around you in the rankings did.

Dw Sully, Your doing a top job, i think people should focus more on the fact that you DO NOT get paid to produce these and you are doing this IN YOUR OWN time! And if they still dont agree with it, then simply click that little "X" in the top right hand corner and DONT FRICKEN READ IT!!!

btw Nashville Crushers are only ranked.... lol JJ

But the people who blew people out beat worse teams we have beat two people in your top ten and went down to 12 thats impossible in any ranking. A team can blow out all the worse ranked teams but that doesnt mean they are better than the team that barely beats the best teams. Thats not a unwriten rule thats common sense. Seattle got a shutout but we beat them 31-29. You see what im saying? Look you had Portland at #2 and Seattle at #12 we beat them both and Portland went down to 4th and Seattle went up above us to 10th and we went down to 12th. We got screwed.

Very lame rankings....

A 3-0 team back at 12th.... the lowest ranked of all the undefeated teams and with numerous 1 loss teams ahead of us.

Glad you don't do this for a living or you'd be broke.

and the standings are the only thing that matters... not some guy on an internet's opinion of how he thinks they should be.

Seriously, when you say that it makes me wonder why you even bother coming on this thread to type. Listen, THIS GUYS IS DOING THIS ON HIS OWN TIME. I ask you this, YOU DO ONE. DO ONE FOR EVERY WEEK and have everyone come read your thread. I enjoy his efforts and think that this is very entertaining and would offer my hand to help him in any way. If your going to critic it then do something to show your skill so that we may critic you.
