Week 3

Well As everyone is thinking is who is the number one team in the league? Well with Alpha and Zeta conferences both battling it out he have on sure fire #1 team in the league. Now the question burning in everyone’s ear is who are the number 2 through 8 teams in each conference? That is the question that everyone wants answered.

Well #1 in our forum for the Zeta conference is no other then the Prague Punishers They are the returning champions and they have everyone chasing after them. They have nothing to prove but to just keep winning.

Last Game:

Prague Punishers
vs. Orleans Aftershocks

Well what can we say? Everyone on the Prague team played even the waterboy played a few snaps. Orleans now have to rebuild and refocus. I would say that they holes to fill or that maybe they even could improve in a few area’s. Um well they need a new team. I think they need to fire the talent recruiters and higher new ones. But I can say with confidence that they had one bright spot in the game. LB iden Darrin with 15 tackles he was all over the field. Prague could be stopped next game VS Cincinnati Tigers Need I say more. Both teams coming off of an impressive victory. Both team undefeated going into this game. The Cincinnati still bitter after they lost to Prague in the playoffs last year. This is the game of the week.

Now Rome and Chernobyl are waiting for Prague to slip up one time. Could this be the game that allows one of them to take the throne away from Prague?
Chernobyl lead the season last year as the top spot in the Zeta conference. With an upsetting loss in the playoffs I expect them to play harder and play fast then they did last year. They underestimated there opponent and I bet they will not let that happen again. They got stronger in the off season and are stomping opponents every week to show they should be the number one seed.
Rome is undefeated, but they have yet to score over 24 points. They have a punishing rushing attack that have made them a winning team each week. But can they keep this up? To stay in the fight for the top in the Zeta conference or the Top of this Pro league 24 points just will not keep you there. Rome has to play 3 hard teams in a row this will either destroy them or show they are a stronger team then I have anticipated.






Now the #1 seed for the Alpha conference is the Washington Chairmen they came out of the darkness to the Pro League and have shown no signs of slowing down. They have crushed all who oppose them. But they have yet to play a winning team. So this weeks matchup against the Georgia Tec-9s will prove what they are worth. Georgia is a hard team and will give Washington their first real game in the Pros. How will they handle it? Will they fall under pressure or will they rise to the occasion?
The Sheboygan Chaos Theory in my opinion should be the #1 team in Alpha league right now. Why do you ask did I give it to Washington instead? Well let me explain, Washington fought is way to the Pro league and is now a force to be played. Sheboygan’s coach has often been heard muttering “I like being the under dog!” With that being said this could be the last week they are number two. I think they have a better team in all aspects of the game and they beat the American Invaders in week one. Which was a hard thing to do last season. Their next game against the KGB assassins should be an easy one for them to win! KGB is a good team, but Sheboygan has a better team and more depth where they need it.

This is where I would normally post other games and show you where the power lies in the league. But this week I will post the upsets for next games and I will post the great fallers of the league!
Upset Picks
Upset for the Alpha Con. Georgia over Washington
Score 35-24
Upset for the Zeta Con. I think there will not be an upset this week. But the fact Upsets are there anyone who upsets their team can let me know their feelings!

Teams that dropped fast.
Moscow Monsters-
What happened to this team. Last year a late season turn around had this team in the playoffs and boasting they were the team to beat. Now after losing in the first round in the playoffs and starting out slow can they do the same again this year?
New Jersey Devils-
Well I can’t say anything but WOW. How do you go from a team last year, that stumbled right before the playoffs got in with some help of a few key games and then falter this year with 0 wins?
Warsaw Legioniers-
Once sought after as the team to beat, only to have the management get mad and sale off the team and players right before the next season. They have a lot o room to grow and should make a good team next year. This year under new management has gotten off to a slow start. Can the new coach bring them back to the greatness they once were?

That is it for the first published column form the EE Pro Sports Dailey. Look to other forums to gather you much needed power rankings. As for next time I will discuss the top 3 teams in each league. The wins and loses for all games. And then the upset picks for the games coming up. I hope everyone enjoyed this column?

Just for the record, Sarajevo was 2-0 when we played them...which I am pretty sure is a winning record, at least if my math is correct

Week 4 Pre-game hype!

There are several interesting match ups this week. A few will determine who the top dog of their conference is and others are just getting teams out of the bottom half of the rankings. Still every game this week is important because in week four every loss could mean another step away from being playoff bound. With that said here are the top 3 games of each conference for this week.

ALPHA CONFERENCE

Washington Chairmen VS Georgia Tec-9s
Washington and Georgia come into this game without to prove. Washington wants to silence all doubters that they should be in the Pro league and ranked #1 in the alpha conference and Georgia wants to win in order to gain momentum and to dethrone Washington. Well here it is guys, Washington has a rushing game called Tricky Richard. This HB has rushed for over 150 yards in the last two games. And when he is not running all over the defense Jeff Greenberg is picking them apart. Passing for an average 270 yards per game. With numbers like that who can argue that they are the best team in the Alpha Conference? Well Georgia can and will. With Jimmy Neutron leading the way with a 220 yards passing per game. With no clear starter at HB this team is in turmoil. Trying to win but squeaking by the first game of the season and then losing this last one. They are looking to bounce back and start a winning streak. Well I hate to break the bad news to them, but Washington wants this win and they are hungry for it. The coach has been heard in the hallways of the stadium saying “Damn sports writers thinking we do not deserve to be the number one team! Well show them this week!”
With that I predict Washington will win by +13 ½.

KGB Assassins VS Sheboygan Chaos Theory
Both of these teams have put up marginal numbers in the past game. But just one game ago Brink Logan passed for 388 yards and 4 Touch downs for Sheboygan. Now KGB has been a consistent team Averaging 200 yards passing per game, but their running game needs help! This is not to say Sheboygan has a good rushing game they are in need of one clear starter. Then they would have a more complete team. But where Sheboygan excels is on defense by suffocating the opponent and only allowing a total of 17 points in three games and 14 of them came when they played the very powerful American Invaders!
This should be a game of the defenses. If KGB can shut down Logan this game will be a close one. They have a great rookie starting at DT that has the talent to make a difference in this game! I take Sheboygan by a game winning field goal. +3

Minsk Koats VS St. Petersburg Red Army Regulars
This is probably the most even match game this week. They both struggle in the passing game. Only once has either of them passed for over 200 yards. So the rushing game is what has carried both teams to a record of 2 wins and 1 loss. Minsk has a stud running back with the name of Big Dawg. He rushed for over 100 yards in two games. Petersburg has a good running back named Chip Runda he has yet to break the 100 yards a game but with his back up they have faired quite well in the running department. On defense both teams stifle the run very well. Petersburg has held their opponents leading rushers to an average of 48 yards a game. While Minsk has held their opponents leading rusher to an amazing rushing average of 33 yards per game, with one game being 63 yards. This is a hard game to call, but I see Minsk pulling this one out in the end. +10


ZETA CONFERENCE

Prague Punishers VS Cincinnati Tigers
This is the game that make the highlight reels. These two teams have been on fire and both been foaming at the mouth to play each other again. Tigers still bitter from the Playoff loss to Prague. Prague Still trying to defend their crown and showing every team out there that they are the best team in the Zeta conference. There is bad blood between both coaches and this is going to be an epic game for this season. Little Debbie for Prague has been lighting up the score board and passing for over 300 yards in two games. While El Danimal is playing a solid game and passing well while the 4 running back rotation has lead the team to rush for an average of 144 yards a game. Prague has been running and average of 108 yards a game with all of their running backs. Both defenses are very solid Cincinnati allowing only 13 points in three games and Prague only allowing 17 points. I will say it again, this is a game that makes the crowd wild and crazy. Home field advantage might play a difference in this game. But I think the away team will pull it out in the end. Prague +4 ½.

Rome Gladiators VS Silesia Miners
This is a match up of two very evenly matched teams. There records do not do either team justice. Silesia From up from the AAA league they have a lot to prove. And from what I have seen they are doing a great job of proving it. Rome holding on to a 3-0 record want to go 4-0. Can they do it? Silesia with a lot of big name talent have quietly been beating down their opponents rushing for over 100 yards in two of their games and a passing attack that is solid but has much they can improve on before the next game. Rome has a stud halfback named Quinton Cabrera who has been running over players on the opposing defenses. It has been heard from a few Line Backers in the league “Hit him low or you will feel his hit for two weeks.” Both defenses have allowed an average 14 points a game. But the amazing thing about that is Rome has only allowed one Touch Down in three games. This game will be fought in the trenches. Both team punishing each other till the sound of the whistle. Rome +6

Budapest Brawlers VS Chernobyl Mutants
Chernobyl is still crushing their opponents with authority. But it might stop here. Budapest has a great one two punch in the running game with Diesel Wells and Captain Jack Daniels with over 100 yards rushing a game with those two. Now the Quarter back issue could do the team in, with Philip J Frye starting but back up Muzik Child comes in and scores all the points. Till Budapest figures out who they are going to start this could be the downfall of a great team. Chernobyl has a great Quarterback Paul Manning who has yet to hit his stride like he was doing last year. Is this the game he stretches the field?
Both defenses are solid, and Budapest only give up more then 14 points to the very tough Prague team. This will be a hard fought game. But I don’t think it will be close. It will be a game of the first team to score will win. Neither coach has shown patience once they have fallen behind in the score. Budapest could upset the dominating Chernobyl? With a Quarterback position in the air and a very very tough Chernobyl defense, I have to give Chernobyl the winning nod of scoring first and watching Budapest try to catch up. Chernobyl +12
