I wanna hear from all the heavy hitters on the board from rod long, darren to wally. What's the consenus on str vs tackling and making tackles this season? This troll has to know has str become more important?

Thanks.

I've had strength capped since forever, so it's hard to say, everybody on my team came in with it capped and haven't changed it a ton. But I will tell you this, even a guy with 74 in tackling will miss tackles. I missed 2 tackles in my last game (blah) so after I watch I'll tell you why I think they happened.

I made an experiment with my second LB where I softcapped tackling early and didn't touch strength. Last season, as a backup, he had 42 tackles, 1 miss, and 4 FFs with under 20 strength. So far this season, 33 tackles, 0 misses, and 1 FF, although his strength is a little higher.

Take it for what its worth.

Here's one missed tackle:

It actually does look like a strength move, possibly a stiff arm. The LB has only 55 strength.

With the increased in breaking tackles, would softcapped strength or tackling rank above double capped vision?

I think it's a given that you should softcap strength after vision now, I'd prob do something like spd, agi, spd2, vis, str, tck, agi2...something like that.

I'd still like to hear from some people with Lower str then tackling. For an LB on my team I have 26 Str and 29 Tackling where as everyone else has 30+. I lead the LB's in missed tackles of course, but only by one. I have 6 Missed the next LB down has 5 and he has 30+ in both.

General Observations about this season:

My FF are down. My 'plays made' especially ints, pds, and def TDs , all spiked after I pushed vision to 60ish.

My only LB with strength in the 40s misses the highest percentage of tackles by far yet his tackling is only 45. The other guys in the 30s are fine with 50 tackling. Go figure.

My personal linebackers and the ones I have directed builds for specifically on other teams are seeing drastic spikes in PDs, INTs, and TFLs once we got vision north of 54.

My linebacker with the lowest strength has the least number of missed tackles. The only trend I have noticed this season is the extended ability of the lower shoulder or power thru ability of the HBs. What I mean is that on a given play a defender might miss the initial tackle and then the next guy comes in and makes it. However, this season I have noticed throughout all my leagues, including the 3 proleagues, that once one person misses a tackle on a play then pretty much the entire team misses tackles on that same runner for the rest of the play. Instead of the power thru/lower shoulder working for one individual tackle, it is now a brute for the duration of the entire run. My interpretation: more missed tackles for everyone all over the place and there isn't much to fret over when a 100 strength 60 tackling NT and a 60/60 strength/tack natural DE are missing tackles on the same play.

What I am quite sure about is that I will likely take tackling to 55 from 50
before I put 10 points into strength at a 1:1 ratio.

My guys are all playing against tougher competition and are producing better than before outside of only my raw FF numbers. My guys have never really missed tackles are still pretty much aren't.
