Plenty...but they are mostly on losing teams

Focus entirely on jumping, catching, vision and agility. Keep his speed crappy, maybe even in the 40s. Make sure, your DC blitzes the LOLB a lot, so the SS is in charge to cover the TE. Oh... and keep his build closed or get a dumb owner. For every pick, the guy will give up 5 long passes. And the TE will be targeted a lot.

IMO it's best to just build a speedy guy and hope you're around when other players force fumbles. My SS has already brought two back for TDs this season Not playmaker in the way you suggested, but he's also going to have a build that good teams will want

These are my SS stats. http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=425009 He has only been on bad teams...look at the tackles per season. Hopefully the team he is on will be better next season otherwise I will have to look for a new team.

Is it bad when you are a GM and take the starting SS away and move him to hopefully a better team?

Honestly: keep him on the current team!

Ive got a playmaker SS. His design inspiration is Brian Dawkins. Hes level 41 and has 72 speed after equipment. He does not have one over the top stat focus, instead having relatively close stats with a couple outstanding SA's. And yes he is successful and so is the team he plays for.

1 Interception and 39 tackles is all a safety needs to be considered a playmaker?

I've got a John Lynch type of SS and I've led the team in tackles 2 straight years for some pretty good playoff teams. Pretty good statline for this year so far too

He makes the plays man. Hes not build for interceptions, but he makes some excellent moves. If you wanna just look at stats be my guest.

And how many tackles do you expect to see coming from a safety position on an excellent team? And you ignored his def td, his 2 FF, a modest 5 TFL's, and a couple pancakes on fellow 2ndaries' interceptions.

I may have misunderstood your question... I assumed by playmaker you meant a player that makes the big plays. I guess you meant interception machine?

I guess most guys would assume a "playmaker" to make big plays on a more regular basis. Just like some guy is averaging to force a fumble every game, get a pick, get a hurry / sack - just whatever... but on every average game. Maybe season is too young, but a single pick or 2 FFum doesn't really represent a regular basis.

(That doesn't say anything about the quality of your guy!)

I didnt mean to come off as defensive and i guess what i mean is my guy is very successful utility player who always makes himself there at the right times. Hes shutdown entire series by himself but that's not something you would know without in depth search through his season and I shouldn't expect you to be doing that on a whim.

I really want to put out there though that there is alternatives to blistering speed players.

Blistering speed SS tend to be a waste ;p

well ive heard of non speedster cb's being successful if built correctly. I also dont know why the FS would need so much speed either. Typically your playing on the other side of the play (not chasing the ball carrier, but getting in front of him) so i would think that agility/tackling would be more important than speed for a FS too.

I know occasionally a safety will man up on a player, with the SS covering the generally slower TE and the FS either going into cover 1 or going man on a WR, but is this desirable?

Also, i realize im now taking things in a rather off topic direction
