I tried to post this in the main forum, but its already getting the GLB sac-hangers, so I figured I could get a better response in here.

If the new tweak to RBs, has them slowing down when they get close to the line of scrimmage, does it now make First Step pointless?

Think about it.

Supposedly, the only time that First Step ever engages is when your RB is handed the football, but if Bort programmed the RBs to slow down to a crawl, while they are running through the line, wouldn't this make First Step utterly useless?

Didn't Bort just clear this up in your other thread?:

That was before I posted this one..

And no, he really didn't clear it up, TBH.

I think he's just saving face. This really screwed up First Step, but it's not like he's going to come out and say it.

I didn't know that it was always as useless for HB's as he makes it sound. Good thing you're bringing light to this and Bort replied. I was considering taking it up to 7 with QC. Not now...

I think the better alternative is still high agility and quick cut. From my understanding agility will help acceleration regardless of whether you slowed down to a small or large degree.
