Hi guys,

I hope the mods will let this stay here for a bit. The quick version is I am trying to coordinate a 2nd Pro Champ World Cup and we need a strong USA representative.

We have 6 Pro champs confirmed to play, but we need a rep from the USA.

Under the tournament rules, the reigning champ gets the invite unless the team is sold or gutted. If the champ doesnt qualify, the runner up gets the bid.

Kzoo was sold and BSB declined to play. Since we didnt have a rule in place to determine who gets the next bid, I thought I would ask here.

Can you guys agree on a strong team to represent USA Pro against the other Pro champions from last season?

It's a single elimination tournament, so a team would need to commit to a possible 3 matches if they make the finals.

I would say Boston should be the next team you would go to because they won it last year.

But they declined to play in the World Cup last year, so i doubt they would play this year.

After that.....who knows. Las Vegas and Philadelphia were the two semifinal teams last season.

This season Honolulu looks like the top team in the West, though.

Who knows. Either way, USAPL is the top to bottom best league in GLB.

Forgot to add...If you poll all 32 teams and asked them who the best team in USAPL is, Monmouth wouldn't get the most votes, but they would get the LOUDEST votes.

Besides that, they would probably be the most eager to play.

Yeah, USA has a bunch of teams who would be a great representative but since the tournament rules didnt cover what happens if the defending champs and runners up are out, I felt the fairest thing to do would be to openly ask the league to pick a team to represent them.

Hopefully their will be some interest here and the USA guys can agree on someone to participate.

We would love to play, but HHW should probably represent pro unless they don't want to GP for the extra games. If they decline then we'd gladly step up.

I know in one of the other threads Hurricane said he really doesn't like to scrimmage. In all fairness they beat us yesterday so they would go before we do, but we would love the opportunity on the Evil Monkey's. No matter the out comes, I think it would be a blast

Since Monmouth Represents the USA Pro forums since it's dead, then we elect HHW. If HHW doesn't want to take out the extra time then MEM will take their place. Done.

Yeah, given that Boston doesn't want it, my next would be HHW.

After that I'd think it'd be a tie between the Monkeys and the Pushovers.

Any of last season's US Pro playoff teams should get a crack at it if they want before Monmouth. Monmouth very well may win it all this season, but if this is off last seasons results it'd be a little strange.

Things changed a lot over the offseason. Teams faded and others rose. All I know is the monkeys are more then willing to GP for 3 extra games for this tourny. But HHW deserves the right before us.

I don't think the monkeys should go because they never GP for scrimmage games. I don't think they want to reveal anything for any real games. This has been a problem in the past. Not flaming, but stating the obvious. If they tried, they would probably win the tourney.

If we're selected we'll gameplan and try to win every game. I don't worry about showing as much any more because I have so many possibilities in the AI.

We'd try, we're not as reluctant as we were in the past.

Exactly, we wanted to get to the Pro's. Now that we are here we are looking to face teams from all over.
