How important would you rate carrying? From what I've covered, I barely need to spend SPs into it...

false I believe it is mandatory by level 35 that you should have it soft capped and at least and probably at least 2 points in cover up. The reason you do not need high carrying when you are low level is usually because defenders ignore strength.

I disagree.

I have 32 in Carry and 2 pts in to Cover up and have no real problem with fumbling the ball nor have I ever had any problem with it.

I would say I fumble on average 7 or 8 times per season and lose 2 of those per season on average.

most of those fumbles are in key games though

I know HB's with 48 carrying that fumble as much as or more than HB's with 25 carrying.

40 in carrying I think should be your first goal and a couple of points in cover up, probably only two. If you are fumbling 2 or 3 times in some games then check your confidence. Check your strength as well

Got like 25 carrying on my power back, fumbles really haven't been a problem, I've spent the saved SP elsewhere and any fumbles that do come seem like a risk worth taking to be a superior HB.

you could also ignore carrying stat until you notice fumbling becoming a problem then you will know why and can fix it.

I don't think it really matters what your carrying is. If you go up against a tough defense with a weak offensive line, you're going to fumble. I haven't seen any real proof that carrying is worth the SP expense. I'd put it over there with vision as "optional".

I've been building carrying along with strength, as the intense combo. I'm satisfied going that way. So far fumbling hasn't been a problem , he fumbled only once in 10 games, a fair ratio imo... I was just asking because I'm about to soft cap (more likely going to double cap) strength and wanted some more insights before going on my next step...

Thanks fory our answer guys, I jsut had the confirmation of what I was already thinking...

Keep in mind that carrying is more then just fumble prevention. It helps break tackles and stuff as well. Its almost the same as Throwing for a QB. Throwing reduces INTs because you through better and more catchable passes. Same thing with carrying. However, like with a QB, you could argue that you also need high vision to prevent picks along with high throwing. If you solely want to prevent fumbling, strength and carrying seem to work hand in hand. Capping carrying at some point is almost mandatory though if you plan on moving to tougher comp some time I ignored it and I fumbled once in 3 seasons, but I plan to cap it now with the insight I have and see how my results change.

Show me some practical proof instead of theory. I'll believe you then.

Season G Fum FumL Plays Play/G
1 0 0 0 0 0
2 16 2 0 646 40.4
3 16 6 0 528 33
4 16 8 4 755 47.2("Oh crap, I'm fumbling alot. 10 sp in carrying!")
5 16 4 2 847 52.9 Half as many? Guess it's important. Cap it!

It's tough to read because the formatting won't work.

My HB has over 80 in strength, 50 in carrying and 5 for cover up and despite being an excellent runner of the ball he fumbles waaay too often.

I'm at a loss as to how I can solve this tbh (without compromising his rushing abilities)
