Yep, I know I havent posted anything yet this season, heck we have TWO whole people trying to make life interesting in EE Pro with previews and smack and stuff who arent named Randy ..

Anyhow .. because neither of them are really in depth and yall know that I am pretty much always right about whats going to happen in games, I will do a little pre/review of what has gone down so far and what I think will happen. No order as yall know I dont like that, but Ill do team by team and see what I think I see out of them the rest of the season.

Alpha

Montreal GSPs
Ah a team that brought CPL speed to EE Pro .. they look to be dominating Alpha right now, even more than Detroit would have, had Detroit stayed, I actually think that we had a HUGE net gain from the GSPs coming. Montreal is playing above their level and really kicking butt, they will be a certain playoff team this season. The only thing I question is their scrim loss to Vaadwaur, who will be fighting for a playoff spot this season in Zeta, I will assume that, that game was tactics testing or one of those games that everything goes wrong and that the GSP's are better than that, until they prove me wrong. Their next game against the Piranhas should at least sort a little out in Alpha, as finally the top teams are playing some real games.

Minsk Ninjas
Are they also benefiting from being in Alpha? The win over Budapest Tigers isnt very impressive, at least yet. Beating up on Vilnius is pretty solid, but Vilnius hasnt beaten anyone this season either and didnt put up a very good showing against Zeta in their scrimmages. At least their next game against MXCA will be a real game where we will learn who is a real team and who has been faking it.

Misctanbul Crusaders
Solid team, good levels, particularly good levels for Alpha, they have already played and humbled the Piranhas and Pregls, both of whom look to be Alpha playoff teams. They also beat the Dungeoneers, a good Zeta team in their scrimmage, but notice, their closest games were against Zeta teams .. a win and a loss .. otherwise they are mowing over the competition. Ufa is their next game and with the way that Ufa played Stalingrad, you can expect that they wont be a Pushover for the Crusaders, but with the kind of games that they have been having, you never know.

Ufa Panthers
Huge offseason renovations .. beating me head to head in almost every recruiting battle and almost beating my most hated rival .. welcome to EE PRO! This is a team that clearly has tactics, they play higher than their levels and just flattened FakeSanta's Titans team, who are a very good team. Their only losses so far are to one of if not the best team in EE Pro .. by 1 point and then a loss to one of the better teams in CPL, not shabby. However, those are the only real elite teams they have played, that ends the next game when they play Misctanbul and battle for early playoff positioning.

Vilnius Maulers
Whats good for them, their schedule has been really soft, because right now they have lost to all the good teams they have played this season, that gives them time to figure out whats wrong, because the talent is there to be better than they have been playing so far. Their next 4 games are against solid teams and even better, it leads off with GCP, who well .. just havent been playing very good ball lately against good teams. I think that both GCP and Vilnius have something to prove in the game, but the loser will come out with a big black eye and will hurt their playoff chances significantly.

MCXA Cybernationists
The schedule from these guys can tell you just how fickle GLB's sims can be .. the same teams play each other two days apart, not too much changes, first time one team wins by 19, borderline blowout and then the next time they lose by 15 .. thats a swing of 34 points .. in 2 days .. was it really game planning or new players? Honestly I doubt it .. one day the scrim was going for one time and the other day the other, thats how it goes with good teams. Anyhow, other than the 2nd game with Dubai they have played a decent schedule of games and sims and won several against good opponents, their game against undefeated Minsk Ninjas will tell a lot more about both teams. From what MXCA has shown so far, Id call them the favorite in that game, but there are a lot of new faces in EE Pro this season and its hard to know what they are going to do until you see a bit more of their work.

St. Petersburg Piranhas
So .. this team has played 4 passing teams and just REAMED the passing teams, they played one running team and got run over .. so what does that tell you? Well .. you should probably run over their DL. Solid levels and looks like a good team, but if they play a more balanced team, or a power running team they could have trouble. Oh .. next week is Montreal who has 130ish rushing attempts and 90 passing attempts for the season .. that doesnt sound good for the Piranahs

Lowell Bengal Tigers
This team is well .. not in the league of the teams above them, they are a solid team, but they are lacking somewhat in talent, one of their GMs has gone missing for almost two weeks and he has a lot of their players. They still beat solid 2nd tier Zeta teams, held their ground against MXCA, who Id say is a better team than them, so they know what they are doing, but the game versus the Dungeoneers, well that wasnt pretty and shows what a real good team will do.

Ljubljana Pregls
This is a team that talked a lot, how they were going to come up and compete, but well so far whenever they have played anyone with a pulse, they have lost, more than once, lost badly. Its likely that they will beat Washington this week, but the GSPs the next week, well I hope they have learned something before then or its going to get ugly. There are 5 free wins pretty much in Alpha .. but more than that, maybe Lowell and GCP are playing at a level to be surprised.

Kazan Golden Horde
It looks like there are some issues inside Kazan, long time GM Sammage is no longer a GM and hasnt boosted his players this season, well the players on Kazan that is, not his other players. Other than what looks like a lucky win against Dubai in the first scrimmage, they have lost badly to two teams who will be fighting for low seed playoff spots in their conferences. Also with BigCheese taking his players elsewhere this past offseason, Kazan lost some elite talent .. something is going on over there and with dberner needing to fill spots with his lower level players, it doesnt look like its going to end up going well.

The Geriatric Couch Potatoes
With several long term inactives (most due to Bucko, the former owner going dead), GCP has some talent that they need to replace. They also have more German players than I noticed before. CB talent is lacking .. they couldnt defend themselves and well .. there are some serious build questions on defense. So .. this team is really offensive heavy, but that cant carry them. They barely squeaked by Washington, but they have 10x the talent as Washington .. I just really dont get it.

Washington Chairmen
Well, they recruited a few people this offseason who didnt belong to the two people who have been a two man team since .. well Season 3. In fact Im not entirely sure that fatherof2 isnt greenguy as well. Either way, they might have a chance at 4 wins this season, they will get 3 for certain and have a shot at Minsk Koats, but other than that, they are little more than scrimmaging the JV team.

Minsk Koats
Well .. they have a few elite players like Washington, but questionable builds and just too little talent since the khayos to Mike team transfer puts them at a serious disadvantage in EE Pro. Their huge loss to the GLB Gods shows just how far down they are, GLB Gods will likely win 3 games this season (2 in Zeta) and they just pummeled Minsk. Minsk should still win 3-4 games in Alpha due to gutted teams and Washington being Washington.

U.S.S.R. Goons
I always said that once Jubs lost all of ChaosTheory's players and he never brought in his own players that could have helped his own team, he wasnt likely to stick it out .. sure enough he abandoned ship. The team actually could have been competitive in EE AAA, but again .. some people are cut out to be owners and some arent ... bignrich and Rezlov were cut out to be owners .. and well .. Jubs .. not. Even the Punter left USSR (former Chaos Theory) even though he was the only one who stuck it out through last season.

Gen. Patton's Demon Brigade
Psychonaut had issues with the hurricane, but honestly the team had been going downhill for some time. I told him in the offseason that he should do the right thing and release his players, but he said that someone was going to take over his team .. no one wanted to take over the team .. and all their contracts are finally expiring .. so one of the two original league CCG teams has come to an end. Hopefully psychonaut sells soon and releases his players .. he should have done it in the offseason when they had a chance to sign with someone. Also .. god have mercy on his soul for being on a team owned by the 10 year old Sam Bolster, who decided to buy a USA BBB team .. because his old team was getting its ass handed to it .. so he brings elite talent to newbie leagues to beat up on newbies .. really classy, of course he might cry if he loses .. so I dont know what is worse.

Rome's Fighting Gladiator's
What gutted team was this last season even, its hard to even keep track? Can anyone remind me what this team was before a newbie bought it .. had no idea what to do with it renamed it like 3 times and then left a stupid ass name in our league?

Okay Zeta, lets see if I can get this done before my wife gets more pissed

Zeta

Percival Dungeoneers
Well they have good levels, except for the CBs, they really havent played anyone so far, so its hard to say, the best team they have played was Misc and they lost. Im personally interested to play them again this season, because when we played them last season .. well Prague won, but it was a competitive game, they are certainly a good team but the games against Zeta's best will tell how good they are.

Prague Punishers
No losses so far scrimmage or otherwise this season, possibly one tonight against a USA Pro team, but I also dont see a lot of EE Pro teams lining up to play USA Pro .. Prague has the most talent in EE Pro .. in fact its not even close, Im kinda ashamed that I havent won more championships like SGA with how much of a level advantage we have. Demoniak is a good team, we stomped them, Vaadwaur as well .. both would certainly be playoff teams in Alpha .. heck .. they might be Top 5 in Alpha. Anyhow, next game is SGA .. the only game that matters really for Prague, LRC might challenge this season, but as usual it comes down to SGA and Prague for first place in Zeta.

Lafayette Ragin Cajuns
LRC has become better this season, they beat Dogdandy, but it was close. Did Dogdandy get that much better as well or was it a bad day for LRC? Other than a bad first scrimmage LRC has smashed who they played so far, but really until they play SGA, Prague or even Percival and EEORG, I will wait to see how good they really are this season. Next game is against the GLB Gods and well .. it will be a smackdown for the Cajuns .. as I said .. the Gods will win 3 games this season.

Stalingrad Gryphon Army
Simply enough, this team is good at the right times, but are they slipping? Ufa is not that great but almost beat them, Ljubljana kept it much closer than they should have, particularly concerning how badly they have been losing this season. Until someone actually beats them though, clearly they are the team to beat in Zeta, their trophies say all that needs to be said .. for the last 3 seasons they have kept a stranglehold on Zeta and it doesnt look like it will change. The next game is against Prague .. one of the only teams that can possibly beat them .. but will they "throw" the game again this season .. at least that will be the cry if they lose.

EEORG Defectors
Good levels, solid wins .. except for a loss to the GSPs very solid looking schedule. They could challenge the top teams in the conference, but we will have to see, for the next few weeks their schedule is somewhat soft and they should expect 3 wins before meeting the next hurdle.

Dubai Lightning
Dubai is always a solid squad, their wins have been okay, but their scrimmages were likewise bad. I think they could have beat EEORG, but they didnt .. so .. so far they arent quite in the upper level of Zeta .. but they should make the playoffs. They have 2 soft games that they should easily win before playing Dogdandy, isnt it nice for Dogdandy to be the first real game for both Dubai and EEORG after a soft spot.

Dogdandy Dragons
This could be a surprise team this season, last season they werent very competitive with the top teams, but this season .. they were tight with LRC, they just hammered Greek, the scrimmages were coinflips with solid teams. So what does this tell me? Well it tells me that they will be competitive with Percival, their next game. This is a must win as competitive as Zeta is this season.

Cincinnati Tigers
Well .. they added some more talent this season, but did they really improve? The defense is still thin and there are numerous questionable builds. Their schedule shows that they are more competitive this season, but competitive enough to make the playoffs in the new Zeta? Probably not. They actually have the levels to do it, but well .. I just dont think that they have the tactics or builds to do it .. that has always been the thing holding Kenyon back .. had he listened to demonicangel during Season 2 .. Cincinnati still had a lot of time, but really now .. demonic's players have solid builds and well .. Cincy .. not so much.

Greek Fire
Well .. bignrich made a gamble, he took in the best players from the sinkin Sarajevo ship .. but now its blowing up in his face, all the people that built his team into a solidly rebuild gutjob are gone and hes left with numerous inactives. The schedule looks bad already and with the competitive level of Zeta this season, unless something happens soon with all the inactives and their lack of boosting .. Greek has little chance to make the playoffs. Their next game is Chernobyl who also took on a number of Sarajevo's players and are now paying for it as well, just not as much as Greek.

Chernobyl Mutants
Yeah theyve had a rough schedule so far, you cant blame them for the losses, if I was Rezlov, Id have hoped to keep them closer, but honestly between the lack of talent/depth and the issues with the former Sarajevo players at key positions, it looks like they have little chance to be competitive or make the playoffs this season. They might actually beat Greek .. but thats still unlikely, because Greek still has more talent and all things the same .. talent wins games.

GLB Gods
As I have repeatedly said .. this team will win 3 games this season, they dont have the talent of Greek or Chernobyl and well .. their CBs .. they could be better used on a team that had a chance to be competitive, otherwise they are lacking elite talent. But its nice to see the owner all in with his players .. because he has some solid level players, but it would have gone better had he added those players to a team that would have benefited from them rather than trying to field his own team. They would have been more competitive in EE AAA, as I said before.

Budapest Tigers
Well they keep games close .. their talent isnt quite up to top levels, but I think that they could threaten for a low playoff place actually, but the high number of turnovers to Cincinnati hurt a lot, because to lose to a playoff team is one thing, but Cincinnati? Well they wont make it.

Vaadwaur Phoenix
Why are they way down here? Their schedule has been crappy for them up to this point. They have a very good team, and they should be a playoff team, Prague and EEORG are Top 5 Zeta teams and they were close to EEORG .. so they should be somewhere between 6-8 probably. They need to start that playoff climb their next game against Demoniak, another team that would like to be in the playoffs, but both need to climb a hill.

Demoniak Piggies
Well, good win over the Pregls .. but whoa .. a loss against Chernobyl with their talent, .. well that was a bad day ... a -2TO margin just doesnt cut it. They have a couple more really tough games and that could just punish their morale if they continue to lose, they should make the playoffs I think .. but at the same time .. their schedule sets them up not to have as good of a chance as Vaadwaur. But their next game is against them so that would be a good start, because if you are going to come in somewhere 6-8, you better beat the other teams slotted to come in there.

Silesia Miners
This team is horrible, their BEST loss is by 108 .. you can all send Bort and Thorn your hatemail for this shitty team still being in EE Pro. They will not win one game this season.

Croatian Sensations
This would be a somewhat competitive AAA or AA team but well in EE Pro .. not so much, they havent scored a point in conference play so far, but they have played really good teams. They have really two teams that they can beat, Silesia and GLB Gods .. thats it .. everyone else will beat them and I just wish they would have been relegated so that they wouldnt have had to log in to these beatings every other day.

Randy, I have never said we THREW a game, I did acknowledge we took part of our playbook out when we played regular season game. It was a calculated move and we lost. We did it because of how close we were going to play each other again in the play offs.

Kinda like when you have a pre season game against a team and your gonna play them again for real (when it counts) in a week or 2... That is all it was randy, not an excuse. In fact that info was leaked out by a player not me and you jumped on it. I would of rather you thought ya beat us straight up. Like my good friend Sun Tzu said, "Appear weak when you are strong, and strong when you are weak...."

Lets have a good game, the better team will win. but ya still gotta win when it counts! Cappy counts regular season wins. The SGA counts TITLES!

great write-up Randy, I agree that the luck of the sim is most likely too big a factor in this game. Lightning is a good team and so are we so i don't undestand the 40 point swing in 2 days.

Yes other people are too .. I saw that after the fact .. oh well

When you write things over every team for 2 hours Im sure you will have a couple of things in there that arent 100% right either.

I just read it over .. I like this, its a pretty good addition with historical context to whats going on when compared to prediction threads.

Complacency. After we killed them in the scrimmage, I figured I didn't have to spend a whole lot of time going over replays and making tweaks. I should have known better ...

Thanks for the write-up Randy, EEPro is certainly getting interesting

As for Vaadwuar, I've been working out a few kinks in our AI, the last kink giftwrapped 9 points for EEORG, which happened to be the final margin of victory. Getting it all under control now
