Yep, I know I havent posted anything yet this season, heck we have TWO whole people trying to make life interesting in EE Pro with previews and smack and stuff who arent named Randy ..
Anyhow .. because neither of them are really in depth and yall know that I am pretty much always right about whats going to happen in games, I will do a little pre/review of what has gone down so far and what I think will happen. No order as yall know I dont like that, but Ill do team by team and see what I think I see out of them the rest of the season.
Alpha
Montreal GSPs
Ah a team that brought CPL speed to EE Pro .. they look to be dominating Alpha right now, even more than Detroit would have, had Detroit stayed, I actually think that we had a HUGE net gain from the GSPs coming. Montreal is playing above their level and really kicking butt, they will be a certain playoff team this season. The only thing I question is their scrim loss to Vaadwaur, who will be fighting for a playoff spot this season in Zeta, I will assume that, that game was tactics testing or one of those games that everything goes wrong and that the GSP's are better than that, until they prove me wrong. Their next game against the Piranhas should at least sort a little out in Alpha, as finally the top teams are playing some real games.
Minsk Ninjas
Are they also benefiting from being in Alpha? The win over Budapest Tigers isnt very impressive, at least yet. Beating up on Vilnius is pretty solid, but Vilnius hasnt beaten anyone this season either and didnt put up a very good showing against Zeta in their scrimmages. At least their next game against MXCA will be a real game where we will learn who is a real team and who has been faking it.
Misctanbul Crusaders
Solid team, good levels, particularly good levels for Alpha, they have already played and humbled the Piranhas and Pregls, both of whom look to be Alpha playoff teams. They also beat the Dungeoneers, a good Zeta team in their scrimmage, but notice, their closest games were against Zeta teams .. a win and a loss .. otherwise they are mowing over the competition. Ufa is their next game and with the way that Ufa played Stalingrad, you can expect that they wont be a Pushover for the Crusaders, but with the kind of games that they have been having, you never know.
Ufa Panthers
Huge offseason renovations .. beating me head to head in almost every recruiting battle and almost beating my most hated rival .. welcome to EE PRO! This is a team that clearly has tactics, they play higher than their levels and just flattened FakeSanta's Titans team, who are a very good team. Their only losses so far are to one of if not the best team in EE Pro .. by 1 point and then a loss to one of the better teams in CPL, not shabby. However, those are the only real elite teams they have played, that ends the next game when they play Misctanbul and battle for early playoff positioning.
Vilnius Maulers
Whats good for them, their schedule has been really soft, because right now they have lost to all the good teams they have played this season, that gives them time to figure out whats wrong, because the talent is there to be better than they have been playing so far. Their next 4 games are against solid teams and even better, it leads off with GCP, who well .. just havent been playing very good ball lately against good teams. I think that both GCP and Vilnius have something to prove in the game, but the loser will come out with a big black eye and will hurt their playoff chances significantly.
MCXA Cybernationists
The schedule from these guys can tell you just how fickle GLB's sims can be .. the same teams play each other two days apart, not too much changes, first time one team wins by 19, borderline blowout and then the next time they lose by 15 .. thats a swing of 34 points .. in 2 days .. was it really game planning or new players? Honestly I doubt it .. one day the scrim was going for one time and the other day the other, thats how it goes with good teams. Anyhow, other than the 2nd game with Dubai they have played a decent schedule of games and sims and won several against good opponents, their game against undefeated Minsk Ninjas will tell a lot more about both teams. From what MXCA has shown so far, Id call them the favorite in that game, but there are a lot of new faces in EE Pro this season and its hard to know what they are going to do until you see a bit more of their work.
St. Petersburg Piranhas
So .. this team has played 4 passing teams and just REAMED the passing teams, they played one running team and got run over .. so what does that tell you? Well .. you should probably run over their DL. Solid levels and looks like a good team, but if they play a more balanced team, or a power running team they could have trouble. Oh .. next week is Montreal who has 130ish rushing attempts and 90 passing attempts for the season .. that doesnt sound good for the Piranahs
Lowell Bengal Tigers
This team is well .. not in the league of the teams above them, they are a solid team, but they are lacking somewhat in talent, one of their GMs has gone missing for almost two weeks and he has a lot of their players. They still beat solid 2nd tier Zeta teams, held their ground against MXCA, who Id say is a better team than them, so they know what they are doing, but the game versus the Dungeoneers, well that wasnt pretty and shows what a real good team will do.
Ljubljana Pregls
This is a team that talked a lot, how they were going to come up and compete, but well so far whenever they have played anyone with a pulse, they have lost, more than once, lost badly. Its likely that they will beat Washington this week, but the GSPs the next week, well I hope they have learned something before then or its going to get ugly. There are 5 free wins pretty much in Alpha .. but more than that, maybe Lowell and GCP are playing at a level to be surprised.
Kazan Golden Horde
It looks like there are some issues inside Kazan, long time GM Sammage is no longer a GM and hasnt boosted his players this season, well the players on Kazan that is, not his other players. Other than what looks like a lucky win against Dubai in the first scrimmage, they have lost badly to two teams who will be fighting for low seed playoff spots in their conferences. Also with BigCheese taking his players elsewhere this past offseason, Kazan lost some elite talent .. something is going on over there and with dberner needing to fill spots with his lower level players, it doesnt look like its going to end up going well.
The Geriatric Couch Potatoes
With several long term inactives (most due to Bucko, the former owner going dead), GCP has some talent that they need to replace. They also have more German players than I noticed before. CB talent is lacking .. they couldnt defend themselves and well .. there are some serious build questions on defense. So .. this team is really offensive heavy, but that cant carry them. They barely squeaked by Washington, but they have 10x the talent as Washington .. I just really dont get it.
Washington Chairmen
Well, they recruited a few people this offseason who didnt belong to the two people who have been a two man team since .. well Season 3. In fact Im not entirely sure that fatherof2 isnt greenguy as well. Either way, they might have a chance at 4 wins this season, they will get 3 for certain and have a shot at Minsk Koats, but other than that, they are little more than scrimmaging the JV team.
Minsk Koats
Well .. they have a few elite players like Washington, but questionable builds and just too little talent since the khayos to Mike team transfer puts them at a serious disadvantage in EE Pro. Their huge loss to the GLB Gods shows just how far down they are, GLB Gods will likely win 3 games this season (2 in Zeta) and they just pummeled Minsk. Minsk should still win 3-4 games in Alpha due to gutted teams and Washington being Washington.
U.S.S.R. Goons
I always said that once Jubs lost all of ChaosTheory's players and he never brought in his own players that could have helped his own team, he wasnt likely to stick it out .. sure enough he abandoned ship. The team actually could have been competitive in EE AAA, but again .. some people are cut out to be owners and some arent ... bignrich and Rezlov were cut out to be owners .. and well .. Jubs .. not. Even the Punter left USSR (former Chaos Theory) even though he was the only one who stuck it out through last season.
Gen. Patton's Demon Brigade
Psychonaut had issues with the hurricane, but honestly the team had been going downhill for some time. I told him in the offseason that he should do the right thing and release his players, but he said that someone was going to take over his team .. no one wanted to take over the team .. and all their contracts are finally expiring .. so one of the two original league CCG teams has come to an end. Hopefully psychonaut sells soon and releases his players .. he should have done it in the offseason when they had a chance to sign with someone. Also .. god have mercy on his soul for being on a team owned by the 10 year old Sam Bolster, who decided to buy a USA BBB team .. because his old team was getting its ass handed to it .. so he brings elite talent to newbie leagues to beat up on newbies .. really classy, of course he might cry if he loses .. so I dont know what is worse.
Rome's Fighting Gladiator's
What gutted team was this last season even, its hard to even keep track? Can anyone remind me what this team was before a newbie bought it .. had no idea what to do with it renamed it like 3 times and then left a stupid ass name in our league?
Anyhow .. because neither of them are really in depth and yall know that I am pretty much always right about whats going to happen in games, I will do a little pre/review of what has gone down so far and what I think will happen.
