After a lot of thinking i have decided to sell the team back to GLB.

It's a really hard decision as i have owned this team since season 1, starting in AAA, moving to the PROs and reaching the playoffs on every season. We have created some nice and fun rivalries over time, specially with my friend team Berlin Blitzkrieg, that also started in AAA with us.

We leave the game with the head well up. The Toledo Swords have always been a playoffs team, and i hope we will be remembered by our explosive vertical passing offense, that put our receivers and QB into the top leader boards every season.

We have also the max stadium built and 100 Millions cash, so the team financial status was at the top. As the team cash is reset when a new owner takes over the team, i have decided to give a big chunk to every Sword player to buy equipment and a generous bonus to pay their loyalty over all the seasons.

The team sale will be effective on Sunday, to give time to my players to sign their new contracts and get the max cash for equipment fm the team reserves.

There are some reasons for this decision taken, but the main one is that i have lost the interest on running a team. With the tactics changing every season, the player builds nerfs again every season without notice, the impossibility to recruit players as backups, etc, it was more of a full time job than a hobby.

A big problem of GLB compared with real life is that everybody wants to be the starter in a team, so when you offer them to be backups, they prefer to go to a lower league team and be the stars there.

I can underestand it, as unlike in real life where players have real prestige for being in a top team and specially real cash contracts, there is little interest on being a backup in GLB as right now it's more fun to be a star somewhere else, unless you are in a team with great owner and team mates and a really active forum, but that community enjoyment is built over time, that is why most of our teams are formed by loyal players that have built a nice friendship over time, and it's hard to convince new players about how fun will be to be part of a team even as backup.

As i said, the team sale will be done on Sunday, and the team will become CPU owned so all the players will be able to accept other teams offers from Sunday if i'm not mistaken.

Good luck to everybody in the Western Europe PRO league. It's been so fun to play against you, to read the awesome articles and previews written in this forum and in resume to be part of this great community. We have lost or first two games, so if this team loses all the games from now, at least we won't have affected the league outcome at all.

Big thanks to all my team players, i really appreciate your loyalty as we already talked in our team forum when i posted about this yesterday, hope the best for you all.

Final note:

I'm only retiring as owner, but not as players agent. My players already in the Swords (not the others) will look for a new home in competitive teams so you can start to spam my PM box (in fact some have already, news spread fast).

I'm looking for competitive teams with an active forum and a nice community, so i wont' miss the Swords one as much. Cash won't be the decision factor at all as my players have enough for a while.

Please if you PM me, tell me about your team organization, GMs, philosophy and future. Probably I'll also want to take a look at your forum to see how active it is.

Sad news, have sent a PM if you wouldn't mind posting it in your team forum.

I can accomodate a lot of the Swords players, through several teams I am affiliated with, and can even find homes for a few at Monarchs.

Like I said in my PM (I'll resend if you don't end up getting it), its always rough losing a part of something that was good, and the WEPL is definitely that. If your players find themselves in other leagues, best of luck.

Sad to see another team fold, but why must people come to this conclusion with the season underway, spoiling things for the rest of the league? Couldn't have made that decision a week ago?

Because i was trying to field a competitive team and expected some old time players to boost as we do every season, but a few of them didn't and half of my Oline for example let their contract to expire without noticing me or even answering my PM's. I won't enter into more details, but i really tried to keep the team alive, if i knew this i would have disbanded it in the offseason. At least we have lost the first 2 games and probably the CPU will lose the remaining ones so we won't affect the league outcome.

Well owning is a tough business unfortunately
People forget that there is a little bit of luck involved with recruiting - Just finding the right person at the right time could work wonders

ANyways, good luck finding good clubs for your Toledo players. Would be great to see your players go back into Alpha to strengthen Alpha sides.

Sad to see our oldest rival go, hopefully your players will remain here to keep the high standards of WEPL.

I joined Dinas in Season 2 so we had the pleasure of getting destroyed at your hands a couple of times before you moved up. Sorry to see you disbanding.

FWIW - if any Swords players are looking for homes I don't care if my players start or come off the pine on Dinas, so let me know if interested. We've got a good team, but we're realizing that everyon does in this league so we could use anyone who wants to stay in this league.

I'm sorry to see another side go under, at least this time you have explained your reasons for leaving the game, I must admit I almost sold my team last season due to the same reasons, the game is just so fustrating in some aspects.

If possible could you post a message on your forum that the UK Patriots are new to WE Pro and are looking for players right across the board, particulary on defense.

We can offer many starting roles for players and a chance to join our active, ambitious community and a chance to remain WE Pro players.

Cheers and good luck for the future!

Jamie - UK Pats owner

Another very good club leaving WEPL, tough game this GLB.

As others have stated I hope a majority of the Swords players can find new homes on other WEPL teams and keep this league strong. A word of caution though, hire a personal assistant to help sort through all the offers you will receive

Best of luck to all the Swords!

Thanks for the words guys, i have received a lot of PM's and have not answered anybody yet about my own players. It doesn't mean i'm not interested, just that i'm reviewing each offer carefully and will answer some of you later tonight so you can hire my players tomorrow once my team becomes CPU.

I'm talking about my own owned players, for the rest of players in my team not owned by me, contact them directly.
