This offseasn has been one of the worste for me. Ive been here since season one and season 2's was pretty bad but this one was the worste. I couldn't recruit anything Players, decent Dc's nothing. One of my freinds said the reason there arent as many dc's is because the more tactics change for dc's the more they r scared off. Does anything this is true?

Over the last couple of seasons, I have taken GM/D-Co responsibilities for 3 teams. when it comes to recruiting, I do so with trepidation these days, and not because all 3 teams are un-capped. There has been a huge shift in the market and max contracts are being handed out like party favors, [almost] no matter the build.

When the regular season hits, you have to scout and game plan. You have to make changes to "The Book" to optimize your strategy. You have to post TACTICS threads so everyone knows which settings to use.

It takes a ton or work to do this for three teams.

The expanded O Playbook hardly scares me off. It has made more work on my part, though. And there's no way I expand past these three teams, 2 of which I don't even have players on.

The new offensive ai has ended up simplifying my defense. I no longer plan for every formation as extensively as I have tried doing in the past. It's more about down and distance at this point, coupled with a team's tendencies.

There is just less that you control now. I would rather be more conservative than risk putting my linebackers completely out of position due to a guessing game.

It is actually easier now. Last season I average around 20 input per game. In one game I had about almost 30. The game we are playing tommorow has 10. It's actually much easier now to game plan on the defense. Though it won't be as effective with the limited inputs.

So turn into a good dc. Simple solution.

Brett, you are smart enough to set this yourself and excel. Just start by seing what works for others, get those together and tweak.
