Hey folks:

Strength: 70.99 Blocking: 14.3
Speed: 42.71 Tackling: 28.39
Agility: 86.39 Throwing: 8
Jumping: 9 Catching: 10
Stamina: 30.08 Carrying: 8
Vision: 19.6 Kicking: 8
Confidence: 19.3 Punting: 8

No Special abilities as of right now. Hes level 23. I have str/agi at the 3:1 cap (didnt go into the 4:1). Working speed now.

Is it worth taking speed to the 61 cap?

Is it still widely excepted that shed block is the only decent sa for pass rushing dt's?

How much stamina should I look towards getting?

Any other insight/critiques are greatly appreciated.

I gotta be honest, I'm a little blown away by the fact that your guy didn't get better production last season. He looks like he has a very solid pass-rushing DT build. I'd like to hear what other people think.

My speed was really low the majority last season while I took agilit to the 3:1 cap. It wasnt until I boosted last year (one of the last games) that his speed got into the 40's. I think that may have had something to do with his lack of productivity early.

And just as an FYI, all equipment is in agility, custom as well, agility is at 69 base.

Gotcha. Yeah, our builds are literally almost identical (I'm one level higher and have 49 speed which you would have if you used your next 5 SPs on speed). It's uncanny.

What are you plans for your DT if you dont mind me asking? Is 60 speed overkill on a DT?

I don't think so, I think more speed just helps turn hurries into sacks and helps DTs to work to the outside more on run plays. My str is currently 70 (base 64) and my agility is 86 (base 70). My plan is to get my str up to 68, then work my speed up to 60. After that, I'm not sure, might just go back to working on agility.

Is it worth spending 4:1 skill points to get agility up. It seems to me the return on that becomes minimal.

Yeah, I wasn't planning on spending any in the 4:1 area. But I'm not sure what else is worth spending points on at that point.

Very similar to my build. I saw quite a few hurries against QBs and sometimes against higher leveled Gs but I had very low speed last season so I hope this season will be different.

Level 26

Strength: 72.69 Blocking: 21.7
Speed: 48.85 Tackling: 30.04
Agility: 81.04Throwing: 8
Jumping: 10Catching: 8
Stamina: 30.6Carrying: 8
Vision: 26.98Kicking: 9
Confidence: 14.8Punting: 9

while his agility is good, he is lacking in other areas, specifically jumping, stamina, vision, confidence and tackling.

Realistically how important is jumping to a Dlinemen? Out of those 5, rank the priority of them.....

1) Stamina
2) ??????
3) ??????
4) ??????
5) ??????

Jumping helps with diving tackles.

and diving sacks. Jumping is down the list, but I think it makes a big difference once you get your basics up to par.

My DT is built very simmilarly to yours except I didnt take Strength to the 68 cap. Lv 31 right now and my Agility is 68 Natural (90 with EQ), Speed will be 60 next lv up and Strength is 62. I used to have all my EQ in Strength but midway through last season I switched it to Agility and got shed block up to 7 - I've seen a huge increase in production since. My advice to you is definitly get Speed to the 61 cap while intense training Vision + Jumping (Jumping increases your tackle radius which is huge when pass rushing because we don't have a TV SA) and Vision + Confidence while sticking some points into Shed Block. As soon as you get vision 35+ (I would cap it personally) start intense training Tackling + Confidence until you can soft cap tackling: then you should be set.

Vision actually seems to play a fairly big role for DT's. The majority of SP's for this season for my DT went to vision and he saw a huge jump in production.
