So...let's say you have 15 SP to start next season (hhmm...wonder why 15) and you are pretty happy with your raw stats and want to invest in some specials...where would you go?

Option 1: Quick Cut
+3 First Step (4 SP)
+6 QC (12 SP)

Option 2: First Step
+6 FS (12 SP)
+2 RR/+1 QC (+3 SP, option to flip 'em to +2 QC, +1 RR)

Option 3: Route Run
+6 RR (12 SP)
+1 FS/+2 QC (+3 SP, option to flip 'em to +2 FS, +1 QC)

So...which way would you go? I'm tempted to take QC up very high and then work on RR as I level during the season. I figure my route running ability is good enough that being able to out cut folks is the more necessary skill.

Thoughts?

If you want to out cut people then I think the way to go would be QC and RR. I would aim to get them both to level 6. I would imagine RR flat bonus would boost the QC ability so I'd level the RR first. So option 3 is my choice.

EDIT: I'm going with pumping 2 FS and 2 QC. Plus 1 RR.

I'm asuming this is for "Going Going", does he have decent stamina yet as I might suggest putting a few points in that.

Anyway I'd say go for option 1. I'm guessing your CE is in the speedster tree which would put your Quick Cut at 7, so I'd suggest permanently leaving it there. With my Quick Cut HB I haven't seen much of a difference from when it was 6 to getting it up to 10.

Stamina? WTF does he need stamina for? LOL! Our other WRs are good enough to shoulder most of the load, Eddie's job is to be a "big play" guy *when* he's in the game. It isn't really in the plan to invest SP into STA at this point. Maybe in another season or two. That's kinda his strategy...if a CB has invested 15-20 SPs into stamina to get it to 40, that's 15-20 SP's Eddie has to beat that CB on the 15-20 plays he's in the game Since his team is deep enough, he has plenty of time to rest and doesn't end up any more/less gassed than the rest of the WRs.

That said, I'll likely be training stamina for all of next season, though I might make a break for some STR/CARRY training.

You are correct, in Speedster CE. 4/7 FS/QC is awfully tempting.

Mob-6, whichever I don't work up with the boost, I'll likely invest with my two levels later in the season. So, I could be at playoff time with another 10 SP to play with...
+5 RR
+4 FS
+7 QC

I'm just trying to figure out what will pay off more to start with, I think the end goal is fairly set.

Lol, I was just wondering as I remember you posting his build a while ago when he was level 24 so I was wondering if he still had low stamina.

If you plan to invest in them all anyways, then I'm not sure it matters too much? Otherwise, I like option #1.

If you're a big play guy... I'd put 5 into FS and 4 into RR. Route Run basically always gives you a better chance at breaking free for the big play with higher speed/agility... and FS activating seems like it would basically be a GGLOL vs most CBs, especially when combined with the passive bonus that Route Run would give you.

I have a similar question about these 3 SAs in general. My level 25 WR is a pure speedster who will end up with 100ish speed and 70ish agility by level 32. I am pretty sure I will only want to focus on 2 SAs in his entire career, and the options are narrowed down to these 3. Whoring First Step and nothing else has been ruled out simply because I feel like I will have enough "0 to max" acceleration with the 70 agility, but SOME first step seems ideal, combined with either quick cut or route run... so which combination would you guys pick if say, I wanted to take 2 SAs up to 6 each not including the +1?

Though I'm not near putting points into my WR's SA's, I'm also wondering what people think would be the best SA's to focus on. Based on their descriptions and what I've read in the forums, I would lean towards Route Run and Quick Cut as they seem to be active on every play, and in general seem like a better idea (to me at least). Anyone think that a high First Step rating would be more beneficial?

Depends on how much speed you have.

I beleive route run can be pretty darn effective. It is possibly one of the reasons that my WR is fairly effective...

Another reason is likely the fact that I don't have a 45 point gap between speed and agility, fwiw...

I'll have double capped speed in a couple of levels. Already have double capped agility

If you have double capped speed and then put all EQ in speed go with first step. If not go with route run.
