Why the #3 team we beat during the regular season and had a better record than has a home game over us this next round?

Why is #1 playing #2 this weekend?

Are they just gonna schedule the Super Bowl ahead of wild card weekend this season and get it over with?

Shouldnt #1 play #4 and #2 play #3 in the semis?

Nothing against 12th knight, dude does a hell of a job over there but this is a sigifinant financial hit to the tune of about 5 million.

We play the regular season for a reason right?

The bottom seed shouldn't always have to play the highest seed in successive levels. It's a monumental enough achievement to take down the top seed in the first round - they shouldn't then have to face the #2.

In March Madness, if a 16 seed ever took down a 1 seed, they face either the 8 or 9 seed (a middle seed) in the second round. Same goes here - Dayton took out the 1 seed and gets something of a breather (Philly) in the second round with a middle seed.

If it's any solace, neither Philadelphia nor Dayton will have a home game when one advances to the championship. Just win your next game and the cash will flow in no matter who takes Dayton-Philadelphia.

Seems to me that if we had the 2nd best record of the remaining teams we should have the 2nd home game.

It's how a bracket works you get placed because of where you fell in the seeding, and while you had the second best record, it was the same as the Lightning...and since you lost to the Lightning in the regular season you get the #3 seed behind the Lightning. Beat the Lightning and your next game will be a home game against the winner of Philly/Dayton.
