NFL Network East vs. West Breakdown

Steve Mariucci: I'm going to start by looking at each conference and the teams they have. The west definitely has better teams and 10 of them are either .500 or above. The east however only 8 teams that are .500 or above. I mean just look at the East vs. West games 2 weeks ago. The west dominated the East 11-5. The west definitely has better teams.
Deion Sanders: Nah, man you got to look at the big picture. The west may be tougher within itself, but when you put the big dogs together, I have to hand it to the East. The East has something the west doesn't have - tough hardnosed football. If you look at the top defenses, 4 of the top 5 rushing defenses are in the East. The west definitely has some explosive offense and high scoring games and I'm interested to see what happens when teams like Death Valley or Bakersfield face any of the teams in the East, especially Brooklyn or the Hurricanes. Cybermagination would have been a good opponent too, but they got knocked out by another good defensive team, Columbus.
Marshall Faulk: Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with Deion here. When playoff time comes, defense is what it's about. Everybody says this, but defense wins championships. The East definitely has the better defenses and when the championship comes, the West is going to be wondering what did they just run into? The East has some top notch defenses and they are going to win it this year.
Rich Eisen: Big words there Marshall. We'll see how it goes. Thanks guys.
