this keeps happening:
http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?game_id=200786&pbp_id=10150577

This happened three times in the last game, where the LB shoots behind my FB for the tackle.

Any ideas on how I can make my FB react quicker to the LB?

I'd guess speed, I haven't noticed that happen to my FB. I'm faster and other than that have some "quick cut" SA, but you have better vision. Although there could be other factors... like maybe the LB is really fast, one of your OL isn't doing something properly and that LB is his responsibility, poorly designed play, etc...

looks like he should be the TEs responsibility to me. I wonder about the halfback too, he stops to collect the pitch, maybe he has low agility. You could try playing with a run block focus.

i think that lb might be the gaurds resposibility. but either way speed and quick cut will do wonders for you fb.

Also warlock and Mcfadden give good advice. i would usually trust what they say.

Thanks all. I especially like the advice that blames the other players!

I've always played with a run focus, but I'll look into the Quick Cut SA and get my Speed up more.

Thanks again!

np, i would suggest 2nd capping agility before i put points into quick cut, bc it looks like your making a pure blocking fb. and to put points in quick cut will be costly. unless you grab a piece of AE

also nice mjolnir.

I have a couple points in QC I believe, it seems to help a bit but you never know, some more agility might have helped just as much. Speed is good but I don't think it's the problem on that particular play as you overran the spot you needed to be at. You can tell the FB tries to come back for the block but lacks either the agility or the quick cut needed to get there. But I wonder even if you had say 4 or 5 in quick cut whether you would have made the block.

My take:
You are a level 28 FB and were out there to seal the edge.
Essentially no-one was there when you got there.
Then a level 34 LB just looped around behind you and took down the RB.
You did just stand there until the LB went by though.
It may just be one of those plays that happens in GLB football.

BTW, I am a huge proponent of "Quick Cut" for any player.

Speed and agility go hand in hand. Agility allowed him to change direction, adjusting to that block, but he just didn't have the acceleration to get back (once he had made the turn). I believe that a higher agility would have helped him make the turn faster, giving him more time to cover ground and reach top speed.

My estimation of the two attributes is this...

Speed = the amount of ground you cover in a straight line.
Agility = the speed in which you cover ground in any motion that isn't straight line.
Both together = player acceleration (the amount of time until top speed is reached).
Quick cuts = reduces your current speed lost when making turns.

So for example, the sim might slow a player down by a percentage, depending on how large the radius of a turn is, quick cuts helps this. How much of a radius the player can turn, agility speeds this up. The speed at which a player can travel in a straight line (after a certain amount of time to reach top speed), would be handled by speed. That certain amount of time required to reach top speed, is part agility and part speed.

I guess the most simplistic analogy would be that, a fast 40 yard dash = high speed. A fast score on the first 10 yards of the 40 = a high speed and agility both. A fast short shuttle score = a high agility score. With quick cuts being helpful with anything that involves changing directions while on the move.
