I'm curious as to what people think of the SAs available to Defensive tackles. I'm also interested what attributes and skills are needed for the SA to be effective, and what attributes are boosted by various SAs.

For example, I've always been of the mindset that Shed Block is probably the most important and that it's based on agility more than anything else, but that belief is grounded in nothing more than the description of the SA. What do you folks think?

All the DT SA's are useless in my opinion

listen to this guy, you can tell by the big stats his DT puts up that he really knows what he is talking about

I really like wall and breakthrough just as a pure run stuffer. Shed block I used to think was good but now I'm more pro strong base.

Break Thru is a graveyard for skill points.

I will vouch for Jbrown, he has good knowledge of the position, his DT was playing against much higher leveled players than his DT's level.

I also agree with Jbrown, SA's are worthless compared to a build of physical attributes.

I have not been pleased with either Wall or Break Thru so far.

I wish I could get those points back.

Shed block is the only way to go.

13 sacks, 29 hurries, 13 TFL. I also got 81 tackles because my guy always held his ground and stopped most runs for 1-2 yards.

We've talked about it all season if SA's work or not. I have 7 in both of the major Sa's for my lvl. 34 DT right now.

I am working on a slow build in the d-leagues, another DT that i am not putting SA's on until i hit the ceiling point (lvl.26 or 27?). See what happens. Hopefully the re-alignment happens for his sake because he will be taking on guys a lot higher levels.

With the new league my DT will be playing in, I guarantee he will put up more stats than your DT against competitive oppenents.

i'm not sure i understand what you are saying, are you going to be moving to a league with easier or harder competition? it kind of seems like you are trying to say both at the same time.

either way, my DT put up some pretty good numbers this year, i think it's somewhat foolish of you to "guarantee" that you will put up better stats, no matter how confident you are in your build.

even though i thought i was moving in the right direction with my build, i didn't expect to have the kind of season i did and i certainly wouldn't have made any kind of guarantee that i could put up these numbers

Strong Base is broken, how could you prefer that over anything?

I'm wiling to bet I haven't played more than 1 OG all season who has higher strength than DT, and none with the 11 levels of absorb pain that should be required to put them even with my 11 levels of Strong Base.

In fact my DT's team scrimmaged against my OG's team, and I convinced my owner to switch my OG to starting LG. 95+ strength level 34 DT with 11 levels of Strong Base against an 85 strength level 31 OG with absolutely zero points into any SA's.

No sacks, no hurries, 2 tackles.

why would you think absorb pain would have anything to do with strong base?
