Some cracking games ahead in the first round for both conferences. Of course i'm looking forward to our re-match with Chicago for obvious reasons (we've both improved since last game), but overall there are some close games mixed in with the blowouts.

Predictions people?

RGB vs Las Vegas-Sorry Vegas, but you've been stuck in limbo all season, it's not gonna change now. Big win for RGB, 30+

Roswell vs Fresno-Tie of the round for me, Fresno have underperformed but their passing game has shown signs of life recently. Roswell did better in the regular season but their pass D worries me. Gonna go for the upset and Fresno to steal it by a TD.

Tallahassee vs San Diego-Worst draw possible for SanD. The only team they really failed to deal with during the regular season, as the baggers ran all over them. Expecting a Tallahassee win but by nowhere near the margin of the regular season game. Tallahassee by 2TD.

Anchorage vs Chicago-Balance vs Passing. Biased but unsure how Chicago's new DC will deal with this matchup. Chicago sucked it up in the regular season matchup, but have tweaked and tweaked since. Both teams have heavily improved their pass D from the previous game, and yardage will be harder to find through the air, so favourite goes to Anchorage's better run D. Expect the Maulers to win by 3TD as Chicago's defence tires late on.

ATK vs Batavia-ATK the RGB of the east, strong team that plays to their strengths, and has the perfect season to backup that claim. No-one in the east dealt with them regular season, Batavia certainly won't now.

Holly vs Charlotte-Not seen Charlotte recently, but having seen Holly's pass D first hand I expect them to deal well with the Crows heavy passing offence. This will give Holly the edge by about 2TD.

Savannah vs Buffalo-Buffalo are known for their late boosting and surprise playoff performances. I can't however see them keeping up with a good Savannah team. Savannah by 10 points.

Pittsburgh vs New Hampshire-I like NHH's style of play, it's like ours except with a weaker run game. I also appreciate the Soldiers high scoring offence though, and fancy them to beat NHH where it counts. A narrow victory in the end but advantage to Pittsburgh in the end by a TD.

No offense to Buffalo, but if Savannah only wins by 10...

Savannah is the team to beat in the East!!

Hard to pick in the West, "The Big Three" look awfully strong.

I'm working on the assumption that Buffalo are working on the same principle they usually use, make sure they make the playoffs, then boost at the last minute to surprise people.

Here are my Western Conference Lines (Sorry I just don't know the East well to :

Las Vegas +24.5 @ RGB

RGB should have no problem stomping Vegas.

Fresno +14 @ Roswell

Did Fresno miss the memo that you need a kicker to compete? I guess so. This team looks like it could fall into the reigns on the gutted teams. Just a hunch.

San Diego +10 @Tallahassee

Should be the best game of the first round. With a couple bounces the right way, the Blaze "could" pull an upset. I've rarely seen a playoff bracket without at least one upset. This would be the one to shock BBB13.

Chicago +12.5 @ Anchorage

First playoff game in Thunder history... We've play top teams pretty close all year, aside from the first go around vs. Anchorage. 24 point Mauler victory over Holly is damn impressive. If we can get our defense straighten out, we should be able to keep it close. One or two TD bombs from us and we'll have a game that goes down to the wire.

Good Luck to all the teams involved!

Pick a side!

It's getting good now. Players are getting to be around similar levels. I can't wait for next season.

did you miss this? A 51 point loss doesn't usually set off the upset-o-meter.

Let's see, one TD off a punt return, one pick that gave you ridiculous field position, we fumbled once on a kick return, another pick that gave pretty good field position, and one more interception for really good field position. If we don't turn the ball over like that in the playoff game, it's going to be PRETTY different.

Actually, we beat Buffalo last year in the first round after losing in the reg season. It was our first year in the league so we're making headway.

That quite a few IF's if you ask me.
We had this one game that IF we had scored more points we would have won.

Quite a few? It's one if. We had four turnovers that game.

We average 1.75 turnovers a game, which isn't great. But 4 turnovers is kinda out of the ordinary.

You are a great team no doubt about it. I know we won't beat you by that much this time around. I'm not expecting to. But there's a reason why we had the best pass and run defense in the entire 13 this season. Turnovers are killer. I know all about that. If we don't fumble 6 times and lose 4 against RGB we have the #1 seed. They had 14 points off of turnovers that game. The fumble return we were driving down the field in scoring position. Anything can happen.
