OK, 1st, that was not supposed to be a rip on Philly at all. It wouldn't have mattered what you did on D. my D couldn't stop your O and you deserve the game.
I am confused by Tpat's logic though. How in the world is setting Run to 60% on 1st down an exploit for a running team, or is running an exploit? Honestly, I'm not trying to be a dickhead here. I just really don't get it.
Here were my #s, until score figured into it in the 2nd 1/2:
1st down:
40% OT
20% Inside
40% Pass
2nd long:
100% Pass
2nd Med
30% OT
20% inside
50% pass
2nd short
40% OT
20% Inside
40% Pass
3rd long
100% Pass
3rd Medium
100% Pass
3rd Short
70% OT
30% Inside
How is that exploiting the game in any way, shape or form?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! Look, you guys are 100% entitled to run any plays you want and no one has any right to trash you for it. My post was not meant as a rip on Philly in the least. I was, and not for the 1st time, struck by the irony of Tpat's post about Boston vrs his actions.
What I honest to God don't get is how I'm trying to exploit the game. I'd absolutely love it if the pull plays works. Sorry, they are horrid. I'd absolutely love it if the pitches work. Sorry, they are horrid. There are only 2 run plays that work at all. Is it my fault that Bort was more interested in making it so ppl could go to the Mall and buy magic slippers than work on the offense, or am I just supposed to run running plays that are more likely to lose 5 yds than gain 5? As I said...I'm really not trying to be an asshole here. What I'm asking is honestly, what is a running team supposed to do. My #s were VERY realistic, considering those are the only 2 plays that work at all (and, trust me, I REALLY wish that more running plays did and Bort would fix them!!!!!!!!!!!).
BTW, with a mere 26 carries in the entire game, it's pretty damn hard to sell your "you don't run the Strong I Dive play over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and I won't run the Goalline D against it."
Yes, there are 2 obvious ways to beat your GL D. I figured them both out well before the game. I even consider going with each for a moment and decided against it. You do have every right to run goalline, and I never meant to infer that you don't. Personally, I want to play this game as much like I would a real game as practically possible. To me, that's the fun, not using unrealistic plays or strategies to win (again, your choice and it's your right...just ironic is all). So, I didn't and just hoped you'd play it straight up, while being certain you wouldn't, but I'd rather lose or quit than play Madden. Madden bores me and if I'm going to play it, I'll play it with my son instead.
Edit: And Tpat, sorry, but I'm not interested in allowing you or anyone else to play God to me and dictate what plays I can and can't run. I do not give you the right to do that to me. I'd rather lose. Sorry you have a problem with teams running 1 of the only 2 running plays that work, but that's your problem, not mine...Just like me having to deal with you playing goal line D on 1st & 2nd is my problem, not yours.
