Does anyone have wr's made to get yac? If so is it better build them like an elsuive back with super high agility?

Actually, I'm more interested in what others have to show here...

A West Coast style YAC receiver (5 yard slant pass with a large run) is going to need the following:

High Agility, should be the highest attribute you have I'd start by taking it to 2nd cap and putting all EQ in it.
High Juke and Spin- require higher agility levels so probably fairly important to a successful agility build. I'm thinking at least level 6 for each, if you can grab advanced EQ for these, even better.
Speed- need to break away after the catch, you'll know when you have enough, if you are getting caught from behind after making a move, keep adding.
?- The rest is debatable. A healthy dose of catching, strength, carrying and vision. If I were doing this I'd train them all to 20 and then train them all to 30 and by that time you should have a good idea where to skill point them from then on.

I don't think you could reasonably get high enough speed without putting the majority of equipment into it.

Quick Cut would be an important SA for this.

So is vision.

I know you'll probably disagree ( I scour these forums, and hold plenty of stock in your advice), I think it does. My gamelog is pretty solid evidence. It happened week 8. My player went from averaging 18 yards per game to 90 and all it took was a little vision apparently. He's also catching 70% of his passes since then and his Rac average in the past 8 games is over 9.

Speed helps of course.

On an unrelated note, I'm kinda curious how much you have in first step, because Lucius Levin is explosive after the catch. That would go well with my newfound field sense.

How much vision did you add? What is it currently at?

Not directed at me, but I'll put my $0.02 in anyway.

I'm on the record many times saying that I think First Step is useless for WRs with high speed and high agility.

I think I might have FINALLY seen my 7 in First Step trigger in today's game (although it wasn't from a dead stop, so I may be wrong).

I still think it's a waste though.

Lucius Levin only has 3 in First Step, I think the plays where he does extend the play after the catch are due his 5 Quick Cut.

How high is your agility if you don't mind saying?

Everyone seems to have a really mixed opinion of First Step. I know some people who attribute the success of their WR to high First Step, then there's quite a few people such as yourself who find it a waste of SP, which kinda makes me wary of it.

lol He started running away from defenders and seeing the field better when it was in the mid 30's.

Honestly under 30 could be 8 or 25... it doesn't help until it's over 30from what I've seen. My other WR still can't find a seam worth a damn, but he's fast!

Thanks again. I also hear a bit of back and forth about people who say it's very useful/not useful.

I think agility is more important as a catching aid/tackle evasion stat than a purely acceleration stat. They only added the acceleration in season 3 and to my knowledge did not nerf the other benefits of agility.

I think agility level determines the rate of acceleration, but has no correlation to speed. Just a guess from what I have seen, could be wrong as I'm only using visual analysis and the timing is in fractions of seconds leaving plenty of room for error.

Complete guess, but great conversation piece:

Example:

A guy with 10 speed and 50 agility will take the same amount of time to get to his top speed versus a guy with 100 speed and 50 agility. Acceleration determines how long it takes to get to 100% of your top speed with 100% top speed being your current speed value. I think it works this way so you can't cap acceleration or out accelerate your speed, if you could cap acceleration (getting to a point where you can't accelerate any faster) it would render Quick cut and First Step worthless.
