TBH, i enjoy seeing people's views on politics. It only really comes about, in extended discussion, every 4 years. Which, is probably more than enough for most, but fascinating none the less. However, i think a couple people have mentioned taking the discussion to Cnn.com, and i kinda agree with that. So, here is a short blurb i just wrote, and I won't say anymore on it.

Am i worried about taxes? No. No matter who becomes president, our taxes will have to be, and ultimately will be raised to get us out of this deficit. If you don't know that, can't admit that, or are not willing to see that, than you are fooling yourself. The federal deficit is so large, and only includes what's on the books keep in mind (millions upon millions are not officially "on the books"), that eventually, there will come a point in time where the only recourse ANY administration will have, will be to ask the American taxpayers to bail them out. And mind you, they won't ask, they will just do.

It probably won't happen in the next 4 years. But, it will happen inside of the next 8.

Now, honestly, I don't care for either ticket. McCain is overrated, Palin does not impress me in the slightest in terms of intelligence, Obama comes off to me as a bit of a salesman and Biden, well he's Joe Biden. None, in my book, are the "elite" people we need, running our country. None, in my book, are truly the "visionary" type people we absolutely have to have in order to get us out of this mess in both the short term and long term. However, i do think Obama will focus more on our country in a time where the focus HAS to be on our country.

Oh ya and Peterson/Bender for the Republican ticket in '12!!!

After reading all that has been said in these several "discussions" This is the closest thing to my own personal beliefs and I could not have said it better than Otega did, so I won't try. As a registered independent, I vote for individuals not party affiliations, so I do my own research and make an educated guess as to who I think is best for the country. Which in the end is all any of us really do! The most important thing to me is you get out and vote, no matter who it is for.

Funny thing happened at work tonight....

A girl I work with has dark hair and glasses. I was working a private room that was full of doctors and a pharm rep. It was me, and this girl working as the 2 servers for this room of 34. The doctore that was giving the lecture told the girl, "I'm going to sound stupid for saying this, since I'm probably the 30th person that's said this to you, but you look like Sarah Palin."....

She laughed and said, "nope, your the first. Who is Sarah Palin?".............

After the laughter died down he told her, "do me a favor and don't vote. if you do vote, just vote republican ticket. I already pay enough in taxes."

As for me, I think the writing is on the wall, and Barrack Osama will win this election 60/40.....

Nothing is more scary to me than a country fully governed by 1 party, which will be the case when the Democrats run the house, senate, and executive offices.

I don't trust any of the polls.

What white person will say they won't vote for a black guy. Its a kind of racial pressure to be accepting, even if you dont agree.

If that makes any sense, if not I'll try to re-explain it

I likes your section 8 reference in the other thread. I had those tenants, they don't pay for a damn thing and think they should get more.

Hurrah Blood pressure!

either i have lost all respect for you, or this is a typo - feeding into the whole mudslinging shit is exactly why McCain is going to lose

OMG Barrack Hussain Obama

jebus christ - he served on a law board in illinois with a guy who committed terrorist attacks when barrack was 8 years old...btw the board also contained high ranking officials from the Illinois universities most of which whom are republican

the fact of the matter is if you want to find faults in either canidate it is very easy at this point because both of them are spewing uneducated, undocumented, unprovable accusations, you need to look at what their plans are for the future

end of the day though a vote for McCain is a vote for Palin, and a vote for Obama is a vote for Biden. my theory is that the first black president willnot survive his 1st term...not being racist but there are a lot of sick fuckers out there that do not want a black president, and McCain is 72 and has fought cancer like 17 times now haha, there is no way he is lasting 4 more years lmao

you should actually be looking at the VP canidates and picking whom you think will do better for the country because TBH i think that whoever wins will have a short lived presidency

The decision to invade Iraq though was a wholely bipartisan decision. The fact that it wasn't immediately decided (which Americans had grown too accustomed to with recent military actions) stuck in the crawl of too many people. Want an example of what happens when the military takes action and then leaves before a decisive conclussion is reached? Find North Korea on your map, and see just how much of a threat they are today............................

When you start something, you finish it (I'm looking at you LA REIGN ). If not, it just creates more problems down the road. I was a member of the armed forces when we decided to attack Afghanistan, and Iraq. I was on the first carrier to launch attacks on Afghanistan, and joined the party in Iraq 2 weeks after the beginning. I am no longer a member of the armed forces, but still believe that my time spend wasn't in vain. When I joined, I realized the chance I was taking. The problem is, many people joined the armed forces expecting free money for college, and weren't willing to accept that war was a possibility (back then). That's why you get a bunch of former troops on a Michael Moore's movies trashing the military. All of our troops today though know what they were signing up for, so don't feel sorry for them. Take pride in what they are doing, because they are trying to make a difference, and do something that they believe in. This shit has been going on for 4 years. That's long enough to fulfill an elistment and get out if you didn't believe in what you were doing.

1st off Michael Moore is a complete douche - i am not trying to side with him whatsoever so please dont try and bring that stigma to me again

2nd - do you remember an area called Bosnia and some dude with way too may consonants in his name (primariy z, x, t, and y) and how that conflict was done correctly? i remember him being tried by the world court and is now serving a life sentence somewhere or was executed, i forgot its been almost 12 years now haha

3rd - i am not discrediting anything that has been done by any of the US armed forces, the sacrifice that they have given is above and beyond anything that i could imagine

i was merely commenting on your 'goverened by 1 party' comment which led to a war that instead of focusing on the direct threat (Bin Laden) turned into a healthy war to 'liberate' Iraq which at the time had absolutly nothing to do with him directly

4th - if you think McCain can lead this country for the sheer fact that he was a POW is just ignorant. i commend everything he has done for this country, but giving him 'god' status because he was tortured for years is just plain ignorant (heard someone on the radio this morning argue that point which is why i bring it up)

end of the day i still stand by my a vote for Obama is a vote for Biden, and McCain is a vote for Palin statement

Consider my vote a vote for Palin then...........

When it comes down to it, I'll always select the crazy cougar over the washed up blah-blah. One would clearly be better in bed....

The war in Iraq blended with the war in Afghanistan, because the then-leader of Iraq was housing and training the militants that put Afghanistan on the world map. Fact is, right now oil is God, and you have to stabilize the country that wears the crown jewels of God. That country is Iraq. If you don't believe that, just linger at your nearest gas station for a few minutes and see how many people pay for gas with less than 25 dollars........................ Those people still have to go to work and provide to our economical growth with their money. Those people are the majority unfortunately.

Frisky, if I remember correctly, you are a car salesman. How is business lately? More difficult to get a loan? More "jacks" than ever before? I thought so. I used to hold your position. I worked at a Toyota superstore as a salesman, but moved on to a restaraunt job at an upper-scale restaraunt because the money was more consistent. I was consistantly one of the top 5 salesman there (probably because of my charming good looks and slick tongue), but still struggled to maintain consistency because of the economy. Everything changed when gas prices shot up, and home security became nil. The housing market is a huge part of that, and it's because of reasons like Dinguses pointed out......... everything today is not to be blamed on one party..

I don't pin my hopes on what McCain did many moons ago.... maybe even many, MANY, moons ago.........

I refuse to back somebody with minimal experience and somebody that is being brought into power on a slogan alone. Somebody who's main driving force is wet behind the ears college liberals basing their decisions on the propaganda they're being forcefed by mtv and whatever trendy on-line radio staion they're spending their time listening to. I refuse to back somebody that was a huge reason that things are so fucked up today because he was too busy building his credentials as a superstar rather than doing the job he was elected to do and fucking voting on the situations at hand presented to him by the job he had taken on....... I refuse to base my decision on an elgoquent moron's words just because he's seen by the masses as a welcomed breath of fresh air over the former regime with minimal insight into what change he will provide.......

The sad thing is, we live in a democratic society, but it is flooded with the most uneducated voters in the world. Face it. We are a society with far too many distractions (technological, and based on education) to be granted the power of political decision.....

As much as it pains me to say this, America is full of morons. To grant the power of electing our government to your neighbor is folly. We are seriously hurting no matter who we choose.
