soft cap stuff...get skills to 48 points one at a time. start with speed and then agility. train str/tck, leave jumping & catching until later.

Ok. Rookie question. Soft cap means it takes more skill points to increase the attribute, right? If that is the case does it soft cap when my player gets to 48 or when I get to 48 minus my equipment bonuses. Example my current speed is 39.5 but 6 of those points are equipment bonuses.

I just made a post about this in the other thread, for reference:

But to answer your questions, Yes, and 48 *not* including equipment. Equipment bonuses don't factor into any training. They are essentially free 'boosts' to your player at sim time.

Don't put any points into confidence, train that up once you get your jumping up into the mid 20's.

If you want to be effective now then get your strength and tackling up to 30 each. Then soft cap speed, after speed agility. After that get your strength up to about 40.

If you want to be better in a few seasons then soft cap speed then agility while training tackling and strength.

Don't listen to this. At your level, 24 tackling should be fine to make most plays. Strength is never really a necessary stat for a LOLB to have. Softcap speed, agility, and vision in that order. I'd suggest working speed towards the 3cap while working agility and vision up to the softcap, as well. Train jumping and tackling in the meantime. Once everything else is getting into place, then you can feel free to dump a few points into tackling if you find yourself missing tackles. Don't bother training catching until you find yourself deflecting a bunch of passes. Strength is nice to have, but IMO it's not even worth softcapping.

Pretty solid advice. I do believe that you need some strength, but not until you've addressed speed, agility, and vision as Blamo said. But overall I agree with almost everything he said. Remember that your LOLB is going to be matched up on the TE most of the time but also needs to be able to quickly peel off and make tackles on other players if someone blows their coverage. Just think of him as a more studly CB.

Thanks guys. I've been moved to LILB and play a lot of STs so I may up my strength to about 25 but most of my points are going into SP, Agility, and Vision.
