I'm curious here. I seem to rarely throw a pass that nobody touches - the majority of the time, one side or the other gets a hand on the ball.

Went through my games to find out just how often I was way off the mark, and of the 104 passes so far this season that weren't caught - 48 were dropped, 38 were deflected, one was intercepted, and only 17 were far enough off-target to get the regular incomplete note.

How do others do on this? First actual season on a non-dleague team, so I can't compare with older results - but I just thought there should be more incompletes than drops or deflections while using the Medium passing style.

I think a lot of drops are due to high catching players being about to touch an uncatchable ball, which gets counted as a drop.

Wasn't asking what makes them be counted as one or the other - my actual question in there was 'do other quarterbacks also see far more drops and deflections than plain incompletes'?

I don't really pay attention. My completion % dropped drastically from last season though, so maybe I should.

I would say strength will help with deflections but will increase drops. Vision will help with deflections too, as you'll make a better read and won't throw into coverage as much but it won't had any physical tools. Throwing will make the ball easier to catch, and I guess increases accuracy but doesn't do much to stop deflection

Only thing I can think of is get a good ratio of each, as the main three attributes all does something to help all three.
