Has or will someone ( GLB GURU ) setup a post with the basic:
8 offence play and the basic defence (counter) for the 8 plays.
Covering:
the base formation 3/4 or 4/3 pros coms
the shift and the cover, depth. why
so a newbie like me can get a handle on what where and why.
this would be a great help for non US/Canda players there are a lot

this would pretty much defeat the purpose of playing the game. Why would a guy who has been playing for months and spent all this time trying to figure it out, just spew all the information in the forums for all to see.

basically you have to do it yourself and learn.

or do what I do. watch a lot of games (the gurus play) and see what formations work here and there.

The best way to develop an offensive AI is to create an input for every down and distance. I have an input for 1st down, any yardage. Then 2nd down, 11-100 yards, then 2nd and 10, 2nd and 9, and so. Then all you do is figure out what you want to do in those circumstances. Make it "your" playbook.

The best way to develop a defensive AI is to watch the successful defensive plays in anyone's game. You would have to watch the offensive formation, and the defensive alignment to see how that play was attacked. Put those results into your defensive AI and use it. After you use your defensive AI once, you will be able to watch your plays and make fixes for the plays that didn't work so good.

I have a pretty good set of both AIs that I developed myself, but I am always changing it to find the perfect solution.

4-3 is better against the run, 3-4 is better against the pass. Use whichever your team supports the best, though. If you have 4 good LBs and only 1 good DT, run 3-4, and the opposite would be for 4-3.
