I made a RDE, wanted the guy to be able to hold up at the point of attack against the running game. He is terrible. He never gets pushed backwards, but he doesn't make plays either. Any suggestions?

Strength: 80.5
Blocking: 13.8
Speed: 49.5
Tackling: 30.5
Agility: 55.5
Throwing: 8
Jumping: 13.8
Catching: 8
Stamina: 26.97
Carrying: 8
Vision: 18.18
Kicking: 8
Confidence: 20.07
Punting: 8

I haven't spent any points on SA's, but I do have the containment SA tree. As you can see, I really emphasized strength in this build, but have decent speed/agility. I'm currently training vision/confidence and occasionally stamina.

Oh, and he's a level 20.

RDE should have extremely high agility and speed. Strength wont help you make plays. Take EQ out of strength and put it in agility and speed. Stamina is ok. Train vision.

having good strength isn't a liability but you don't need 80 at RDE either, so some equipment into say agility and then more speed can help. 65/65 spd/agi with 70 str should be pretty fail. and train blocking too, i think that can help as much as vision as far as pass rushing goes, although higher vision will help more against the run since yours is pretty low.

You really fit better at LE, especially if you want to stop the run.

And get about 4 points in Break Through at least. Play LE.

ok, am going to play LDE, got that worked out. Now that he is a LDE, what would you suggest? I played a game at that position and I'm still not getting past blockers...

Is 80 strength worthless for a LDE? Should I move equipment around? Or should I instead concentrate on hitting the second softcap in agility and speed while training vision/blocking/stamina?

80 Strength is not worthless, but your agility and vision are way too low.

My LE has 60 Str 76 Agi and 50 spd along with 7 tunnel vision and flat out SUCK. I really dont understand this

Honestly strength DE's dont normally succeed at rushing the passer. If you want sacks make a DE with high speed and high agility with only about 50 strength.

The high strength DE on my team has been the defensive MVP two games in a row.

I would move your equipment all into speed or agility if you have the cash. I tried moving mine into agility first and didn't do anything for 3 games, moved it to speed and have been playing a lot better. Also depends on what Bort does this offseason, I'm hoping that he already messed with DEs so he won't be touching them for a while to address other positions. Moving to LDE will help with the stats but getting to the QB isn't easy (for most of us) from either side. Good luck and let us know how it works out.

equip into speed and pump TV when you get a little higher.

Why build a run stopping RDE? Doesn't make any sense since about 80% of pitches go toward the LDE.

Anyways, move him to the LDE spot and forget about being an elite pass rusher essentially.

What are the key attributes for stopping the run as a LDE? Obviously strength.....I know vision helps. Should I be concentrating on improving speed or agility? Or both?
