The backers were in man to man coverage and the ROLB ran across the field and engaged the TE(least as I can figure) and didn't take on the HB which he did in other plays throughout the game. Any ideas?

It looks like both the LOLB and MLB were blitzing. Not sure who the SS is supposed to be covering.

It looks like the SS started to blitz as well. What were your settings for the 3-3-5 defense you were running here?

3-4 MLB and SS blitz man coverage underneath cover 1 pretty simple defense

the only thing I can figure is this time the wLB ran to cover the StrLB and tried to help with the TE when he was blocked at the line. Just looked so weird. Every other time this defense came up he would wait for the HB and follow him making some great plays, even a few TFL. we won the game so no bitching about it. its just...... weird! We were even well ahead by this point so I don't see the computer taking over and doing something different. its just weird.

I just checked it again. the settings do not have the LOLB blitzing in this case and it lookes like thats what he did. just so stinking weird.

You were playing a nickel (3-3-5) LLB, MLB, SS all blitzed, no one was left to cover the TE except the RLB. Looks like you set a center shift as well which forced the RLB to stay on the right side. I could be wrong, but it almost looks like a cover 2 actually, with the way the FS is lined up, but the SS is close to the LOS because coverage distance was set to short, and he was set to blitz.

but thats it.... the AI settings weren't for a LOLB blitz. and its cover 1 watch the rush so the ss and fs were closer in.

Have you entered 0's in all positions you don't want to blitz (alternatively, put a 0 in the basic AI blitz %)?



FS is playing Cover 1, he's between the hash marks, slightly leaning towards the deeper WR, nothing wrong there (aside from being late on reading run ).

The best thing to do is put that exact situation into you AI tester and see what comes up. Every once in a while I find a small error in my AI.

But the LOLB isn't blitzing there, he is covering the TE close, since the TE is blocking, it gives the appearance that the LOLB is blitzing.

It looked like the ROLB was going to cover the TE, but that doesn't make much sense. Maybe he forgot what he was supposed to be doing.
