Ideally there would be an intense combo of Punting/Confidence, however there is not.

Any recommendations on training a brand new punter?

All depends on how you want you build to go. I personally chose LostPeon's suggestion, but Punting/Vision could be argued as well. In other words, if your second SC is going to be Vision, then do Punting/VIsion. If it's going to be strength, do punting/str if it's going to be conf then do punting/str and then switch to conf/vision while waiting on the points to sc conf.

Thanks guys! This is my first Punter.

From reading previous posts, my assumption is that the abilities of importance are -

1. Punting
2. Confidence
3. Strength/Vision

Me personally I think:

1. Punting
2. Conf/Vis/Str
3. Jump/Agi/Spd (though none of these need to ever get SPs, training should be enough)

There are those here who argue that yes, confidence is more important than Vis & Str, and some even think vision is worthless. I'm not one of them.

I personally went Punting, then strength and confidence at roughly the same time/level.

but my low vision is killing me with touch backs.

Agility/Speed/Jumping only need to be trained as mentioned previously

Think ahead. punting/vision is a bad idea. Why? Once you finish punting, what does strength have left to do it with? Nothing too great... While vision still has confidence.

punting/strength
vision/confidence

and you'll have jumping/stamina, speed/agility once you're forced to move on to those.

My punter got screwed - made him just before the new training and I finished punting. Now I finished confidence, so strength/vision have NO intense combos. strength, vision only go with jumping now... so I guess i'm stuck with

strength/jumping
vision/jumping
speed/agility
stamina/agility

So my slowbuild P (insanely good.. tbh) will end up with a decent amount of jumping, I'll be curious to see how this works out for him. I'm anticipating low 30s jumping.

Get punting to the 3rd or 4th cap immediately. Then confidence to the 2nd cap. After that really does not matter so I would go SAs. Just train minor vision/strength/agility/jumping/speed listed in no particular order.

I think throwing is in there as a minor stat for fake punts in the future.

Octowned do not train stamina it is a wasted stat for a punter.

Yeah, last option for me, really. My punter never has energy issues right now. I feel speed is a wasted option too, though, and I find I may just resort back to vision+jumping once I softcap vision to get it higher.

How many No Returns have you been punting? I would say train vision or bump it up with SPs if its a low number.

Not many no-returns. We have a pretty good team and most of my punts tend to come in the other guy's territory. Most of my kicks go for around 45 yards but alot are touchbacks. Any trick to hang time?

Well your vision is 25. Maybe train that up to 30 and see how it improves your punts. If you find it helps then you can start pumping SPs.
