Wow… no upsets, no surprises. I have a feeling the next few weeks will be similar. There are very few games with “upset” potential. Maybe something will catch us by surprise, but don’t hold your breath.

Team of the Week-

Las Vegas Legends- In the game of the week, the Legends squeezed out a victory of Philly in exciting fashion. Vick to Malhukakas, 45 yards for the win. Legends defense then stepped it up to seal the game and seal up a likely 7th seed for the playoffs.

Title Contenders

1. Anchorage Maulers- (0) First time we’ve had a back to back number 1 in several weeks. Surprising this is, after the Teabaggers latest boost, I could have moved them up here. We’ve definitely got a top heavy league, 1 and 2 have separated themselves in a major way.
2. Tallahassee Teabaggers- (0) This is an interesting match-up. Because of the late boost, the RGB upset to take the number one seed, the number 2 and 3 seeds SHOULD play in the SECOND round of the playoffs. This means a likely Chicago/Fresno vs. RGB match for a spot in the conference finals.

3. RGB Berzerk- (0) Our number one seed sits 3rd in our lastest installment. Nothing really new to report. Solid win over Port Moresby. Last match against what will likely be a playoff team comes against San Diego 3 weeks. A win here all but locks up a number 1 seed.

Could find a way into the conference championship game…

4. Fresno Jaguars-(0) Bounced back after the loss to San Deigo with a decent win over Springville. Game was well in hand by the time the Renagades put up 7 points.

5. Chicago Thunder- (0) Looked VERY formidable against Raving, not that anyone in this league hasn’t. Bailey threw for a team single game record of 10 touchdowns on only 16 completions. 1200 yards of offense while giving up only 176. Next weeks game vs. San Diego should determine the all important 5th seed. 6th seed gets the Teabaggers, 5th seed likely gets Fresno.

6. San Diego Blaze- (0) Interesting game against Anchorage tomorrow. Upset potential? I don’t think so, but this game will be closer than people think… I think I set the line Maulers -12.5.

Going home after the first round....

7. Las Vegas Legends (0) Will likely get Anchorage in the first round. That means a short playoff run for the Legends. Good win over Philly last week, should have an easy way out before finishing up the year with Fresno and Savannah from the leastern conference. A win here would cement the Western Conference as kings.

8. Roswell Space Pirates- (0) Big game against Las Vegas in two weeks. A win there any they are looking at playing Anchorage instead of Tallahassee… that sucks! Only one absolutely winnable game from here on out.

Planning vacations...

9. So.Cal Beach Bums-(0) Zero points in the last 4 games. Not sure they will be able to score again going up against Chicago this week. .500 would be a good start, but this team has a long way to go.

10. Philadelphia Demonik- (0) Trying to figure out how they keep staying in games and I’m clueless. On paper, they should have big problems stopping any kind of decent defensive line. Props to you guys on game settings, you know how to play yours strengths and weaknesses.

2+ seasons away…

11. Houston Space Cowboys- (0) There is a tough stretch of games coming up in the next few weeks. Avoiding the ole doughnut should be considered a moral victory.

Looking for a clue…..

12. Port Moresby Trucks- (0) As I keep saying, these guys have the ablilty to step it up next year in a big way. Keep the builds solid; add some key players and a playoff berth could come as early as next season. Having a big problem scoring points, that needs to be addressed.

13. Springville Renagades- (0) These guys need to start recruiting. To only have 2 20+ starters and 98.3 chemistry is pretty bad. I believe you guys are trying to slow build, but I doubt anyone will still be here by the time you guys get to a competitive leve.

14. RAVING MAD DAWGS-(0) These guys have a lot of potential to build a good franchise. Should be 1 or 2 seasons from being back in the playoffs.

15. Scranton Scoring Midgets- (0) Still just pathetic. 17 million in the bank and still have a majority CPU players. I don’t think the owner was prepared to take over this team. Logo still freaks me out.

16. Phoenix Resurrection- (0) Owner finally logged back in, but this team will hopefully get a new owner at the end of the season.

Hope you all enjoyed, not much work left to do here. I’ll most likely be doing some playoff previews in the coming weeks as there will be little to no movement in my power rankings from here on out.
Anything you’d like to see? I was thinking about doing a Dawgs Mailbag. Send me questions if you have anything you’d like to get my opinion on.

Just my two cents…

Love it Dawgs, wish we could have shook things up a bit but maybe next year. Thanks for the compliments, the hell schedule we have from here on out will prove that our builds are better than our levels and we can plan. You think the Demonik have any shot at beating anyone remaining on our schedule (besides MAD DAWGS)?

2+ Seasons???

Well, I agree that the rest of the year is tough (If I can win my last game, and at least be competative in the others angainst the best of our league, I'll be estatic!) I think that I'm in pretty good position for a playoff run going into next season. I'll have a handful of 30+ lvl starters, much better financial situation next year than this season (having to beg for financial relief from Support sucked, but oh well...) and I'll have a better grasp of fine tuning the AI tactics.

I also have more guys signed through next season than the 2 teams ranked ahead of me, and slightly more money, so I think that there is at least a coins flip chance that I can snag one of the final playoff spots.

But I respect your opinion, and I'l just glad you don't have me lumped in with the trash heap behind me...

You talkin' bout us? Our money is too busy tied up in stadium construction for the offseason already

And we have 90% of our players coming back next year, just don't have the paper signed, too busy(I dunno...) trying to win

I'm rooting for you guys against the Legends this week! Pull the upset that we could not

Gents-

Keep in mind those in front of you will be getting better too and trust me its tough to recruit when you are at the bottom of the league. We know all to well from experience.

Houston reminds me of Chicago 2 seasons ago, a couple top starters, but depth-wise nothing near the top guys. It'll take a lot of work and you'll have to do a hell of a sell job on em.

Unfortunately we'll be going after those same guys, I hope you guys arent as persuasive as I am. lol

You guys will probably play Chicago, Fresno, and RGB closer than expected, but I'm not going to say you guys are ready to upset any of them. It would be a HUGE loss playoff position wise for all team.

RGB would move from 1 to 3 seed, Fresno from 4 to 5 (difference in home game), and Chicago from 5th (good position) to 6th (bracket of death).

We won't be sleeping on ANYONE, I doubt other teams will be.

Well, I'm figuring one of the top teams goes up to USA A#7 and the relegated team coming to us will suck ass, so that's a spot right there. The Demonik will be tough to leapfrog, since they are getting so much out of thier roster as it is, and then you factor improvement going into next year, but if I can leap over the Bums and have one of the other borderline playoff teams have a bad offseason, then I think I'm in good shape to at least have a good shot at the playoffs.

And you are right about getting depth at backup spots. I think it's harder, since if you have a 26+ level guy at a spot, then the level 22-25 guys don't want to sign cause they feel they can start somewhere else, which I don't blame em, but it does make it tough.

Given that we've never actually beaten the Blaze i'm keeping my expectations low for the game tonight. Will be interesting how their new look offence turns out compared to previous seasons.

It really is quite odd. I'm looking forward to tonight's game. Should be one hell of a match.

Well, as a defensive player, that game was maddeningly frustrating.

Well, I messed that up ridiculously, got caught up at work and we ended up running our test offence from the So.Cal. game. Also lost our backup FB/HB so had our CB running on short and goal . Big hole to fill pre-playoffs.

EDIT: Hole filled in 30mins , got a lvl28 FB in for the job. Not the 32 we had but he'll do nicely.

You can pretty much set your book by our matchup against the Blaze that something will be happening with me. This is the 4th game now we've played, i've not had time to set up for them once so far, seem to be jinxed. This time it was a leaking freezer and a blackout at work, last time I was in A&E being prodded and poked after collapsing. Swear they're sitting there at home with their voodoo dolls working their magic.
