Has anyone built a corner built solely for returning kicks? If so how did it work out? I'm curious and am thinking of building one myself.

I'm considering it, I think I'll focus on Vision and Speed and just have Agility and Confidence pretty high.

I built CB Jet Jones who is in the CPL. His stamina is way low and has high speed agility (imagine that). Also, I have noticed a lot of missed tackles with an increase in strength. He only plays on ST's and 4th in depth for CB.

I'm sure a lot of people have. I'm working on slow building one right now. He's level 16 and I've maxed speed and vision and will have agility maxed next level. After that I'll be second capping speed/agility while training carrying/strength, and then I will start pumping points into return spec. I'm not putting any points into tackle, only trained stamina slightly, and will be using very few SAs: the first three on speedster and SV.

so is it still consensus that the return specialist SA is still one of the worst in the entire game?

No its not the worst one. That would have to be the smooth operator. Only thing it does is allows us to put points in shutdown coverage.

my CB is built solely for KR/PR, and so far id say it has been very successful. now i know hes's only lvl 17 and some people will argue that since he is in the minor leagues that his game stats dont mean anything... but you simply cant argue with 6 KR TDs and 7 PR TDs imo. and i dont think return specialist is completely useless... i have seen an increase in his broken tackles since i started getting it up. (i have it at 4 right now.)

The nice thing about cornerbacks is building one to cover makes it a kick returner, too. Kick returners require high speed, agility, and vision. So do corners. The foundation is the same, really.

yeah, but as soon as you start putting points in coverage SA's, his use as a KR man, imo, starts to fade. If you want to do mainly KR or maybe both, try to stay away from coverage SA's for as long as possible, and if you want to do solely KR/PR stay away from it entirely (aside from maybe a few points in super vision... but that isn't completely proven yet so i wouldnt advise it.)

1 KR TD and 4 PR TDs for my KR CB Reverse Touchdown. Works pretty well I think.

Thing about low level leagues is people will catch up once caps are lifted or their plaeyrs level. It's easy to return kicks in capped leagues, I've seen a ton of teams getting them.

Return specialist is truly one of the worst SAs in the game. You are better off having a RB as they can be productive in their normal role and a good kick returner. At higher levels CBs and fumbling machines when returning kicks and if you invest SPs into fixing the problem you become a liablitiy in coverage.

I say don't do it.

KR/PR isn't a problem in coverage... they don't cover. return specialist helps A LOT if you build your corner right.
