How do I soft cap?

Softcap means you get the skill to 48.07+ where it costs 2 SPs to increase 1 level.
Also, focus your eq bonus on a single primary attribute or two, where possible. I know it's expensive, but it's worth it.

Sorry, but retirement is the only reasonable solution. Either you constantly play in a just cap-lifted leage for the rest of your carreer or you going to suck badly. You miss about everything a safety needs:

speed 70+ (absolute minimum)
agility 50+ (absolute minimum)
vision 50+ (absolute minimum)
jumping 30+ (absolute minimum)

Start over and focus on speed, agility and vision first (after you got some stamina to play on hard and get maximum XP). Leave jumping for training.

As you reach above numbers, make a decision what direction you'd like to develope your guy. If you want to force fumbles once in a while, focus on strength, tackling and agility. If you want to defend the pass, focus on speed, vision, agility and jumping. If you want to grap picks, add catching to the pass defense build.

was going to disagree with those numbers until I looked at my own guy, I agree 100%.

Now to the OP you really need to consider retiring and starting over

Re the OP's QB (not meaning to pile on, but at least that player is still fixable):
- lay off the SAs
- limit your equipment to one or two attributes

Sorry, but I agree with this post. That safety is not salvageable. That safety is in terrible shape for a level 28. It looks like you are missing a lot of points.

I agree with everyone else. This LVL 28 FS is simply not good enough. When people talk about "bad builds" they're talking about builds like this. I actually hate telling someone their build is no good, but the longer I am a DC, the more I watch other team's offense.

And there is simply no chance I would take on a LVL 28 FS who only has 56 spd / 32 agi. I wouldn't even want this player on special teams because he is too slow. Even my LVL 18 linebacker has 67 speed.

Free Safety rarely gets INTs, so if that is your concern.. create a CB

Your equipment is spread around too many attributes. I have the same problem but your focusing on Catching, Strength, Tackling, and Stamina is taking away the points from Speed, Agility, and Vision. You are better off retiring and hopefully not making the same mistake.
