Eastern Power Rankings

We are now eight games into Season 5 and some things are becoming clearer, while others are muddied. Whatever ends up happening, it is clear to me that we have some very solid teams that are separated only by a play or two in one others favor. It is no easy thing to put together a Power Ranking. Every time you think you know where a team stands they lose to someone closely or something else that makes you rethink their position. After some careful considerations, including strength of schedule, overall starting roster and record here are my Eastern Conference Power Rankings.

Play-off Teams
The top of the conference has seen some position changes with only the top two teams staying in their respective rankings. The Fight continues to be on the winning side of some very close games and until someone beats the Blaze or the Fight I don't see the top two changing. We will see how things end up in the next couple games. Key match-ups are coming soon and will shape the eventual playoff seeding. It is a very exciting conference to play in, that is for sure. There is no clear dominant team at this point.

2. New Jersey Blaze
3. Ottawa Outbreak
4. Philadelphia Pigeons
5. Tampa Bay Krakens
6. Atlanta SEC All Stars

On the Bubble
As the season progresses the bubble becomes smaller. We can no longer consider 6 teams as viable for the last two playoff spots. The math just doesn't support this. I had to move some teams down to the lower tier. Owners and GMs please don't be offended by this. It is purely my opinion of how things have transpired to this point. There is still eight more games in which teams could change the whole look of this conference.

7. Bonita Beef Supreme
8. Saint Paul Vulcans
9. Buffalo Chips
10. Texas Wrecking Crew

Regrouping
The teams in this category were referred to last time as "rebuilding". At this point, since I have moved some pretty solid teams down here, I would rename this section as "regrouping". The top of this bracket only has a couple player moves, build/equipment updates and some AI/Game Plan tweaking to reach the next level.

14. Sheffield Sabres

First of all, thanks for doing these, makes the league a little active compared to dead, which is a huge diference. I agree with most of it, did not bother trying to short teams out after the top 10.

I think the Krakens will end up in the top 4 though, getting a home playoff game.
Also, I would put the Chips in the top 8, but then again they play GW in game 16 so I bet that will knock them out of a playoff spot.

In 3 games we will really see where the top teams stand.

We've also beaten both of the other bubble teams we've played. Our 3 losses have come against the 2, 3, and 4 teams. I see us finishing with 10 wins--is that going to keep us out of the playoffs, especially with tie-breakers already secured against 2 teams considered our competition?

Yea it is hard to consider everything. I know one thing, we will know where your team stands in four weeks. You will have to play the Vulcans, Krakens and the SEC All Stars.

Well you gave yourself wins against the SEC All Stars and the Vulcans. I think you guys will beat the Vulcans though and finish at 9-7. After actually looking at it a little more in depth I retract my statement about GW knocking you out, I bet you will make the playoffs. I did however say you were a top 8 team in the first place though

I gave us two wins out of our games against the all stars, the vulcans, the krakens, and GW. I feel pretty confident about that.
