Inaugural GLB World Cup Kicks Off October 6th

Driven by the desire for further competition and additional opportunity to increase their fame and recognition, Pro League team owners suggested the formation of a World Championship game, where the 8 champions from Pro Leagues each season would meet on the gridiron to determine which team is the best of the best. And while the GLB management is still considering implementation as part of the actual simulation, the owners took matters into their own hands, organizing and planning the format of a true World Championship.

"We all agree that GLB needs ideas and concepts like this to keep interest in the game for all teams" said USAORG Legionnaires owner Hokiemon. Bangkok Seamen owner Ben Dover agreed. "Our team may have been runner-up last season, but we were every bit a part of that championship game, and when the opportunity to play in a true World Championship came up, we knew we had the guts to take a chance and prove ourselves." And to prove this point and just how tough the Pro teams can be, the Stalingrad Gryphon Army stepped in to represent the Eastern Europe Pro League after their leagues Season 4 champions disbanded. "These 8 teams represent dozens of GM's and coordinators that work hard to understand the inner workings of the game" said Gryphon owner RaiderSGA. "What better way to show our appreciation than to let them butt heads with the top minds in the game."

While the ultimate goal of team is to win that coveted platinum GLB World Cup trophy, the Inaugural GLB World Cup will also award a stunning Silver Cup Trophy to each of the four regional cup champions, to add to their bulging trophy cases and to display in their respective stadiums for all future opponents to fear and respect. And the runners up will not walk away empty handed either, as each of the 8 teams participating will earn a season supply of Moose Juice for all players on their roster. All natural, PETA-safe, Baby Eater approved Moose Juice is one of the secret training weapons used by USAORG teams to help beef their players up during training. "I am not all that worried about Moose Juice getting out to these Pro Teams" said USAORG Vacationer FB and entrepreneur Moose Mulligan. "These teams are the best and represent where we all want to be, and they should get an extra reward for their hard work."

All first and second round Inaugural GLB World Cup matches will be shown on regional network television, with the GLB World Cup Championship Game broadcast worldwide on the GLB Global Sports Channel. Official merchandise and gear will be available at all host stadiums throughout the event, as well as free Moose Juice taste tests for all fans in attendance at the Europa Cup on 10/6.

Editor's Note: I fully support the concept of the GLB World Cup and think it is rather cool that these eight teams worked together to make this work and put some life into the simulation, to fill the gaps of boredom during slow times. I thumb my nose in the general direction of the champions that declined to participate. Championship wimps I suppose.

I encourage you to post this wherever you think it will help raise awareness to the concept and encourage ideas/suggestions for future updates and previews. All I request is that you post without editing. I have a team of lawyers that are prepared to swoop down and sue anyone who changes the content, however, I ain't paying them a dime, seeing as this is all in good fun. Besides, does anyone really believe a blocking FB has a team of lawyers or can even be associated with the word swoop?

Not really, since the USA rep is a mediocre team this season.

A World Cup has 32 teams and months of qualifying.

I like this idea, but it's essentially an overhyped mini-tournament.
