I have one int. I'd say I have the best cover corner on my team. I can't say this enough, and I know I have some support out there, but if you picked a corner for picks and passes deflected, you picked the wrong position. Just like in real life, the guys that get all those plays also give up a lot of plays. It's a gamble, one I'm not sure is ever worth taking.
Some teams thrive off turnovers...It has its advantages over being so, 'unsocial'.
The problem with this is turnovers should be a bonus, not a necessity. The offense should be able to score independent of what the defense does. Sure, they always help, without question, but when you start to lean on them and use them as a crutch, well, then you run into major problems when you can't produce them in a given week.
What does someone leaning on them or 'using em as a crutch' have anything to do with it? Its like your arguing that every team that focuses on getting turnovers relies on it too much....So...Try again plz.
Turnovers kill. Point blank. I can think of more advantages to ball hawking than I can to being a complete 'shutdown corner' because even the best of those get thrown at. Every CB gives up plays, being able to turn some of those into turnovers only helps you take advantage of opporunities if they are present
.
Id rather have a CB who gives up 70 yards of passes, but gets atleast 1 INT every game, than one who just causes the passes to go to the other side.
You cant use the 'overuse' argument cuz you have no idea how people would use it. Thats their perogative but the opportunities are present whether your looking for them, or not.
