Just got a DC. Turns out I'm pretty good at the recruiting, trading, etc, managing finances, but I'm missing the point on D and O. Please help my team with unlimited potential.
One word of caution. Try as best you can to sift through your candidates. At any given time, the boards seem to be full of people who want to give a coordinator position a try. They've never actually seen the AI's before, but they've watched football for every one of their 11 years they've been alive. They know their level 3 QB is destined for greatness, and figure BBB leagues can't be all that tough.
But there are MANY people out there who are good at it. Just a matter of finding someone who you mesh with.
OC and DC positions should be coveted so one thing I would do if I were looking for one is try to have them bring over a high level guy with them. Get a player and coordinator out of the deal.
Good luck with your search, coordinators are crucial in this game and it seems there are more bad ones then good ones.

Second that. Getting the player/coordinator combo is a great idea that most teams employ. This however, leads to a lot of not-so-good coordinators as well. As always, it helps to know a little about the person you're bringing in. Check out their previous history. Do they GM any other teams?
If they GM two or more teams, chances are they'll be better than someone else wanting to "get their feet wet." There's a big difference there.
