I have heard arguments both ways. I do not have enough experience to make a call but I would like to hear from some of you experts. Is a 1:1 ratio foolish or is it foolproof?

Ive always had good results with having my speed 10 higher than my agility up to 70/60 and since then ive just been upping speed and have been doing better than the other DB's on my team who have been keeping them 10 apart or less.
Im not sure how 1:1 is at lower levels, but once you are at level ~30 I think you just need to work on getting your speed up to 80ish to be able to stick with recievers.

I'm not entirely convinced this is true. I maintain a dead even 1:1 and have given up fewer pass plays (while adjusting the depth chart to cover the most productive receiver) than anyone else on my team. 70:70 with SC SA has been very, very effective for me.

I think SA's are extremely under rated for CB's as well. I dont think they should be taken to 10, but I look around and most dont bother taking them past 2/3. I think the entire Shutdown branch is good to take to atleast 4 (except smooth operator at this time).
Im not saying 1:1 is bad, because I honestly havent played around with it myself... but ive had quite a bit of success with the traditional +10 method until my agility hits 60 at which point I have buffed up speed with alot of success. I think +10 has become the standard because it has proven effective over the past 4 seasons.

I am having success with closer agility to speed ratio.
I noticed a difference with 2 things:
Jumping and Shutdown Corner.

Unfortunately, you have to get smooth operator up to 5 if you want to get max benefit from shutdown coverage. I'm not a fan, at all of +10. It does nothing but increase the gap with the Shutdown Coverage SA.

Sorry, I ment +10 in regards to Speed & Agility, not the SA's. I think its good to get to 44435 atleast in the shutdown branch.

I've always wanted to try a high Agi/Vision Zone coverage guy with only 50ish Speed.

I think for the SAs they need to be somethign like 4-5-9-4-7
That would be optimal IMO.(and realistic)

Well, I have it every which way. I have a high Vision/Agility Zone coverage CB, Speed CB, KR Specialist CB, Balanced CB's, High Jumping and Agility CB, etc. etc.
Frankly, I like my Speed CB's better because I never have to watch them get beat deep, but thus far my 70/60/50 CB is performing best as a Cover CB as a whole. That could be because he's loaded in SA's too, whereas the others aren't as much, but nevertheless.

There aren't many WRs with more than 50 or so Agility. I'd say to do the same with your CBs. Softcap Agility, immediately after Vision IMO. Speed first, then Vis, then Agility, then Hardcap speed, then SAs.
Just my opinion. I like to think that my CB is pretty damn good. My new CB, Travis Hawkins, is taking a different approach than SPD/VIS/AGI/SPD/SA, but that formula is the one that works, as it did for Aaron. 18 PDs, 1 INT, and only 15 tackles(2 MSTKs) to go along with a FF and a TFL. Once I get SV up to 8 on Aaron, I'll start working on Jumping and Catching, which will, in turn, translate some of those PDs into INTs.
Travis Hawkins, however, will emphasize INTs early. I won't go any further.

There, I fixed it for you...
Speed/Agility need to hard capped IMO...The best WRs are high speed/high agility, they can turn on a dime and keep most of their speed. CBs need to be as fast as them to cover well...Use your shutdown Coevrage SA to make up some of that ground. SuperVision is a must.
Dont ever listen to anyone who tells you there arent many WRs with more than 50 agility.
