I have a DE that gets roughly 40-60 plays a game...this last game I played 47 on defense.....now for the question, can d-line play on the offensive line.......according to the last box score, I also played 47 plays on the o-line and got a pancake..............Is this a glitch, or can I be pulled to the O-line if they need another body?

You can play on the O-line, but a more likely scenario is that you got a pancake after a fumble recovery or an interception or perhaps on special teams. Anytime you get a pancake it shows up as an offensive line stat whether it happened on offense or not.

The "real" best use of blocking for a DE...pancakes on special teams!

You didn't play 47 plays on the o-line, you played 47 plays. The number stays the same for everything. Look at any other player, their number of plays is always the same.
