Ok so my CB just got torched this game. I have no idea why. He is level 18 with 70spd 50agi and 48vsn. Jumping is also at 24. On the shutdown coverage tree I currently have 2-1-1-1-1. I am the highest level CB in the league that hasnt boosted yet this season. We currently run 4 CBs on the team and the others are all level 17 with similar builds. Seems like I should dominate just about every WR I face yeah? Well I got dominated this game. In fact our team gave up almost 300 passing yards.

Lets check out some plays I got dominated on

Here my WR gets beat on a curl route by a level 14 WR.

again same guy

New WR. Followed him perfectly until the ball was thrown. This WR is level 17 and his build is completely open. 69 spd, 45 agl, 48ctch, 30vsn, 2-2-1-1-1 on possession reciever tree.

Same level 17 wr. near identical route.

same guy, same route.

same guy, same route, covered perfectly.

That one level 17 WR got 18 receptions for 200 yards doing the same thing all damn day. How in the world can that be stopped? All our CBs are level 17 or 18 and all have Speed in the 66+ region, 48 agility, and agility ranging from 50-56. We cant stop this. What are we doing wrong?

Those curl/comeback routes are very difficult to find success against, tough to defend.
Looks like you need more agility to stop and move again.
You need SuperVision, and LOTS of it.
Also getting faster would help. You wont be able to hold up against #1 WRs for long at 70/50.

I've been having the same problem. My plan it to head more towards the 1:1 speed agility ratio.

You need to get your agility to atleast within 10 of your speed, alot of people on this forum prefer 1:1 but speed+10 has proven to be effecitive time and time again (more agility never hurts, id love to be 1:1 at a high level it just gets costly).

Also if you have 70 speed at level 18 with soft capped vision and stamina im assuming something else is hurting. Make sure your stamina is atleast to 25 (im not sure if its as important now with the new changes, but as your ingame energy wears down you performance decreases) and your confidence in the 20-25 range (low confidence means that if you get beat once, you will continue to get beat). Other than that though I think Agility is the biggest issue, but covering the curl/comebacks is something that we all struggle with.

Eh stamina is 32ish. I dont see how softcapping speed vision and agility will really hurt anything else at this point. SAs shouldnt even be used until these are capped. Jump 25 Tackle 22 Str 18 ctch18 ahhh confidence is fairly low yess....14ish. Its really hard to train confidence now with the new training system. No good intense combos. Training normal doesnt seem worth it. I guess Ill have to train normal soon though to get that confidence up....I would like it to be 20.

Study game film: +vision/+confidence

I know its not the best option but atleast its two attributes that a CB wants. Also if you dont have anything into the SA's you might want to start investing in those. SV and SC would really help you at this point in your build.
